Why does that concern you? I removed the AAD on all of the 5th gens we've owned (3). Remove it and never think about it again.
Doesn't cause a CEL?
None of the three I removed threw a code. It will apparently throw a trouble code that you will need a code reader to see, but it did not throw a CEL.
