Advantages of the Bilstein 6112/5160’s over 5100’s

Just curious what the main advantages would be upgrading to this kit over the 5100’s . I know you get a bigger strut with a coil spring and the rear comes with the piggy back resivour and allows up to .5 travel than the 5100. Guess my question is would it be better to run the 5100’s on all 4s and keep my orp springs and run a 1” spacer in the rear, or go the 6112/5160 route and get the Clayton 1.5 on rear.. of course I’m gonna run UCA’s also prolly the mopar ones cause I can get them for nothing pretty much. Just looking for the best route to go and maintain a good ride and to clear 35/12.5/20s.

Wondering the same. I have a ReadyLift SST 3.5 and it gave me enough clearance to run 25x12.5/20

I wonder if 5100s will make the ride quality a little better.

I can’t speak to the 5100’s but I can tell you that after installing my 6112/5160 yesterday, the ride comfort is considerably improved over the stock suspension. It’s honestly a night and day difference.

That's nice to know. I might look into this.

Bigger shaft, bigger piston, little bigger body to accommodate more oil,better offroad valving. It's a better overall assembly compared to 5100's at least when it comes to giving the truck speed in dirt roads.

How much lift you get out of it? Did u do a spacer in the rear or your truck orp as well?

I went with rung 7 which nets a 2.6” lift in the front I believe. I have a 2wd non off-road package non air ride. Stock springs in the rear.

Oh well u should be good, with 2wd you don’t have to worry bout cv angles
 
Can these be used with the molar lift instead of the fox shocks? If not what are some combos that people are using these with? Thanks in advance for the info as I'm new to suspension work on trucks.
