Adjustable Hitch on Truck, Adjustable Coupler on Trailer, or both? Which do you prefer and why?

Title says it all. Looking for input from those with experience as I don't have too much. My main (personal) use will be hauling an open equipment trailer. I would think if you're mainly or only using 1 tow vehicle, an adjustable drop or riser hitch would make an adjustable coupler unnecessary...or just a proper fixed drop hitch to match the trailer's coupler height. Also don't like the idea of the coupler being 'bolt-on' as with most adjustable couplers instead of being welded on (A-frame).

What are your opinions? Thanks.
