Adding Rear 5100's without Lift vs 4600

I ordered rear 5100's and the B12 springs a little while back, but I dont think I want to raise the rear anymore.
Im considering installing the 5100's without the springs. Non ORG truck.
Is there any reason the shocks would not be ideal if I dont use the coils to lift? Would 4600s be less likely to bottom out?
They support up to 2" of lift, but im wondering what the effect is with a stock setup? Stiffer? Softer? Or just more available travel and the same performance?

Im editing this since I want to ask opinion on 4600 vs 5100 if I plan to stay stock height on the rear.

Still plan to level the front with either adjustable Eibachs, or 5100's if I want them all to match lol

Thanks Bowers. I kinda expected that answer.

I guess it has been asked before but the question should be 4600 vs 5100 for rears at stock height. Any benefit to the 5100?

This guy has a 3/4ton Ram, but seems to think the 5100 gave a better ride.

Valving is the same right? Wouldnt the 5100 be more prone to bottom out?

I think the bump-stops prevent that from happening

I don’t see why they would bottom out?.. They’re the same shock as the 4600.. just zinc plated.

5100s will be fine. they will be a better ride than the 4600s and the as said the bump stop is what you will bottom out. 5100s are designed for 0 to 2" lift, so stock height is fine.

Its a longer shock so their not the same.
