Added OEM trailer brake controller

Got the OEM parts on ebay for $235, from Fast Wholesale Parts.
Using this video

The hardest part was separating the controller blank from the module. Take care not to break the channel on the bottom that connects it to the rest of the module.

I got wrapped up in the install and pulled the head unit section from the dash without thinking to protect the giant screen and scratched it.

One dealer quoted $310 for programming. Even with that and the cost of the part the end cost will be half of what that same dealer quoted for the part, install and programming.

Be cheaper to get the alfaobd setup and program it yourself, plus have future ability to add/program changes without paying the dealer's bloated fees.

No. Chinese manufactured. I asked about 6 of those on ebay and all of them were either Chinese manufactured or supposedly assembled in the US with Chinese parts. They were all about 80 bucks and they all had a black bracket instead of the silver bracket that comes with the OEM.

I've read about that and considered it but can't imagine ever needing the tools again and I worry I may brick the system.
I'll look at this option again. Thanks for the encouragement
