Hi all,

Background:
-1 year ago I removed the Active Air Dam and did not tape up the connection under the truck

-6 months later, when my battery died a CEL came for the active air dam & active grill shutter.

Tried reinstalling the active air dam and did the following:
- Took to dealership to clear it
-Disconnected battery and let it sit
CEL hasn’t gone away in over 6 months now.

Just today, I got my security bypass cable, AlfaOBD, & OBD connector.

I performed the following steps to clear it;
-Car Configuration -> Active Air Dam -> switched from Yes to No.
-Cleared the code
-Changed the mode to engine so it’s not just the PCM but also ECM & cleared the codes as well.

It went away, only to come back later.

I did the same thing again after I removed the active air dam now and I’m having the same output with it throwing codes and the check engine light coming back on.

I bought all the AlfaOBD stuff & a smartphone just for this to clear this check engine light, wasted like $250 so far on just this.

I just want my check engine light gone and my ability to start my truck from my key fob without it shutting off seconds later again.

What else can I do?? I really would appreciate any advice.

Quick question, are you sure it’s not your active grill shutters setting the code?

Unsure on this, I’d wanna say no, but is there a way to check and confirm?

I do get both codes thrown for the AGS & AAD but I thought the AAD could cause both to appear if it’s not functioning properly.

I do want to add, when I changed my battery, it was because I installed some new pod lights on my truck (all wired via a switch panel).

I left the lights on and the battery died from that, and the CEL/Code has been there ever since.

Unless the AGS could have gotten messed up from when I killed my battery and had to change the battery, I don’t see how the it could be that given the timing of it all.
