My 2022 Ram 1500 Bighorn 4x4 came with the Active Air Dam. I replaced my bumper with a higher clearance once and a skid plate. The Active Air Dam wouldn’t fit, so I removed it. I did not detach the motor from the dam and leave it attached. I removed the entire assembly.
I don’t have a visible check engine light, but I do have malfunction codes related to it. Also I noticed that my horn chirps on unlock now instead of just lock.
I also get weekly notices from the dealer that I have a malfunction indicator.

I pulled my logs through AlfaOBD and see Active Air Dam as Yes. I was under the assumption that if AlfaOBD reported it, I could manage it. However I can’t seem to find the option to set AAD to false. I can’t even find AAD. Only thing I can find is a test for the Active Grill Shutters.

Does anybody have an idea what menu path I would take to find this? I looked through every menu and didn’t find anything that just jumps out as AAD.
Any help would be appreciated. I could care less about the malfunction indicator. But this extra chirp is driving me nuts. I don’t want to lose the one on lock, but this one on unlock needs to go.

There isn't a way to remove it through alfaObd. There is an option for active air dam, but toggling the selection will not prevent a mil code. You can just remove the motor and leave the connector dangle, I'd cover wil somehow, and you will not have an active light, but there will most likely still be a stored code.
