I'm really sorry to hear about your accident—it sounds like a nightmare. If the shop wants to repair it and you feel like it won’t be the same, you definitely have the option to challenge their decision. In some cases, you can push for a total loss if the damage is significant enough, especially if you don’t think it’ll be safe or hold its value. As for diminished value, you can absolutely bring that up with your insurance company. They might not offer it upfront, but it’s something you can negotiate.

I just came across this while looking for frame rail issues, how did the repairs end up going for you after all this time? I went through a mess almost exactly like this on the bypass back in 2024 and the insurance company kept trying to say the core support damage was just cosmetic.
