Friends,

Just took delivery of an ARE Series camper topper. I suspect there is a manufacturer defect with the camper. In order for the rear hatch to seat and close properly against the tailgate, the camper seats approximately 1/2” off front frame of the bed. Very much unlike the comparable Leer topper sitting on my friends 2019 Tundra.

Also, the frame surrounding the side “win-doors” just doesn’t look good. Their are breaks and imperfections in the aluminum. Considering the $2400 price tag, I’m not overly impressed.

I’m going to contact ARE. Everything looks relatively fine, and functionality is fine, but I am not overly impressed.

Do they have a T-connector for the 3rd brake light, or do cut & splice the wires?

Update,

I have had my V Series Camper for about a week. I am fairly pleased with it. The windoor option is very functional, but I dislike the windoor frames. They seat outside the camper wall. It looks a bit too senior adult. If I did it all over again. I would pay the extra money to have the windoor drama recessed like they are in the next model up.
