That's exactly how I feel. I lived in Phoenix for 20 years and it's sunny for more than 300 days per year. My mood would improve 100% on cloudy days. Whenever I would fly somewhere else, I would comment to the locals how much I loved the overcast skies. They would look at me like I was nuts. I said, if you lived in Phoenix, you would understand.

Haha totally understand and feel the same, I'm pretty sure we have over 300 days of overcast here (give or take) so going to the opposite of that would be pretty tough.

My biggest gripe with where I live weather wise is only being able to drive my classic car part of the year instead of year round. That would be a nice perk, and well of course the lack of salt on the roads.

At least this keeps the mosquitoes and flies away for a few months...

Funny timing on this thread. I’ve been vacationing with the wife in Hawaii this past week. A bit in Waikiki, then we flew to the big island. A few days in Hilo, and now a few days in Waikoloa before flying back to the mainland out of Kona.

Unfortunately, the truck was a bit too big to pack in our checked baggage.

Beautiful islands, very few bugs compared to midwest summers (or southern summers, or southwest summers), in my experience. Enjoyed hiking the craters, gardens, and forests. Pearl Harbor was also great. Way too many pictures to post here, so I’ll just deposit one.

Nice trip, and smart finishing in Waikaloa. You can just chill, everything is right there, so you will be relaxed when you get home. Great shot of the sunset. Marriot Waikaloa?
