Brings back a lot of great memories. Had to stop years ago due to physical problems. What's your sled?

15-22 inches (probably more) of snow coming on Saturday with 60 mph winds... I think I'd rather be in Hawaii at the moment.

That was a 2011 Polaris Pro R 800 but I am picking up a 2022 VR1 tomorrow.

Tell us about Japan.
Were you near Okinawa?
Sasebo, hot and humid in the summer and cold with some snow in the winter, beautiful falls , similar to the northeast. It is on the southern island near Nagasaki. Never made it to Okinawa, my wife has a lot of exposure there, she works for the Marines welfare program. She loves her Marines.

Funny timing on this thread. I’ve been vacationing with the wife in Hawaii this past week. A bit in Waikiki, then we flew to the big island. A few days in Hilo, and now a few days in Waikoloa before flying back to the mainland out of Kona.

Unfortunately, the truck was a bit too big to pack in our checked baggage.

Beautiful islands, very few bugs compared to midwest summers (or southern summers, or southwest summers), in my experience. Enjoyed hiking the craters, gardens, and forests. Pearl Harbor was also great. Way too many pictures to post here, so I’ll just deposit one.

I do like the seasons, be kind of boring with 80 degree weather all year.
Nope. The 4 years we lived in Hawaii we could go anywhere on any island at any time, and with kama'aina rates, dirt cheap to fly from, say, Oahu to snorkel at Captain Cook for a day trip, maybe $100 incl. rental car and snorkel boat. (... and a sad farewell to Aloha Airlines, RIP).

Being born and raised in Wisconsin I grew to hate the cold and snow (hence: live in Florida) and do not miss the "seasons" at all.

btw it is freezing here this morning (yes, 32 deg.F.) wish we were back in Hawaii but could not afford to retire there.

I love when it's 32° in Florida. It's the only time I enjoy myself there. 😎

I agree with some of the others about seasons and having some fluctuation in temperature. The thing that really gets to me is the constant sun, the part of NY I am from is amongst the gloomiest in the country and after nearly a lifetime (35 years) in it, I can't stand going more than a few days without getting some severe overcast skies back in my life.

Last time we were in California for a few weeks I couldn't stand it after the first 3-4 days. Went up to San Francisco and got some weather I was a little more used to. My wife on the other hand would love sunny and 80 every single day of life.

That's exactly how I feel. I lived in Phoenix for 20 years and it's sunny for more than 300 days per year. My mood would improve 100% on cloudy days. Whenever I would fly somewhere else, I would comment to the locals how much I loved the overcast skies. They would look at me like I was nuts. I said, if you lived in Phoenix, you would understand.
