Has anyone gone this size offset with just a level on their orp truck with air ride?? I figure I will have to get the rough country 5 in lift to make it work.

It would be great to just level and toss them on with trimming.

Let me know what you think! Thanks. 30898 30899

Almost certain that wouldn't fit without a **** load of trimming or a bigger lift

Is there a reason for the 3" offset? Also 12.50 tire on a 14" wide rim?

3" offset because it's a 14" wide wheel... it has to be -81 or it wouldn't be able to turn.
Yes, a 12.5" wide tire that will have to be stretched onto the 14" wide wheel.
This is what a lot the SEMA/show style trucks are doing.

maybe a level that is compatible with the air and then set air to higher setting.
I would have to say doing a proper lift would be your best bet. That is alot of wheel/tire to clear.

You won’t level and fit without trimming.

I’ve got daystar spacers, homemade links, done some trimming, have 20x12, -51mm Arkon Lincoln’s coming to Mount my Firestone Destination MT2 35/12.50’s..

Right now I’ve got the 35’s on stock 20x9, +19mm offset with 2” wheel spacers. I still rub full lock unless I’ve got air cranked up to max height, and I’ve trimmed a decent amount of plastic.

I have already starting researching trimming the fender “pinch weld” area. Note, there aren’t pinch welds, but the section where the fenders are bolted to the truck, there is a lip that WILL hit 35’s with a -51mm offset.

I will take pics and report back once installed.

Yes! Thank you! I knew there was someone else with the same taste in rims. I’m looking forward to seeing those rims on your truck!!

I kinda figured the -81 was gonna be too much. I just like how those 24’s look with the 35’s.

Yep-has to create a little extra clearance to prevent rubbing, but nothing that look too bad. I’ll take pics and post ‘em in a couple days.

Issues are the fact that the wheels have 2 valve stems, 1 inboard for TPMS, and 1 outboard for airing up the tire. No problem. However, the 20” wheels coupled with monster factory front brakes means that the inboard valve stem contacts the brake calipers. Made it home and back to the shop 2 days later after I found some regular (non-TPMS) valve stems at 1.25” at a local parts place, just to get me by until the 0.75” stubby TPMS valve stems arrived from eBay. Even then, I didn’t feel comfortable with lack of clearance, so I broke out the grinder and got rid of the raised casting flash on the calipers to get a little more room.

Have an appointment tomorrow to swap valve stems.

Oh-TPMS sent by wheel shop didn’t sync to the truck, so I had to re-use sensors from factory wheels. No big deal, but gotta send those purchased back and get my $180 back.

Most frustrating part is shop has been told about this in the past (guy on Instagram commented same problem and that he had notified the shop), yet they had no idea-tried to blame the shop that did install because the TPMS THEY sent had to be swapped. And after 3 days emailing and calling trying to simply convince them I wasn’t looking to blame them, I just needed their help to find valve stems, they basically said “good luck” and that was that.

Couple things here, I’m about to soap box as an OG (or just Old Guy) in this domain:

1) For sure need a lift. 14” Wide wheels look stupid on non lifted trucks. And that means leveling kits. They aren’t lifts.

2) there’s a boat load of 24x12 wheels for sale. No reason to buy 24x14 if you don’t really want them. (And yes I know That exact wheel isn’t available in 24x12)

3) it will likely still rub pretty good on the 5” lift.

The sema show trucks... the difference is that those trucks are all lifted, and setup in a “cen cal” ish style. So the trucks are setup to be “skating”. And that means the top of the tire sits somewhere around the body of the truck, NOT stuffed in the fender wheel on a level (or small lift). Like a classic roller skate, hints the name skating. And that style looks legit.

What isn’t legit is all these budget build bs setups online. Small lift and giant wheel and tire that doesn’t fit. Truck all cut up to only turn 80% and doesn’t even look good. Not a soul is looking at that type of truck and saying THAT LOOKS AS GOOD AS THE FTS OR BULLETPROOF SEMA TRUCK.

The truck posted above looks completely out of place, I mean that truck needs 7-9” of lift for that to look correct.

Slapping giant wheels on stock trucks is like the Fast and Furious ricer wing and stickers of trucks. It’s awful.

And let me just fire off some example photos here:

FTS sema truck. Legit. 12” 37s.

RC + 1.5 body + 1/2” spacer for 8” total. 24x12s, 37s. Legit as well.

6” RC, 37/22. Look how stuffed the tire is, it’s dumb. Should have gone 35s. That wheel and tire is just completely out of place, again. The dang valance is BELOW the lug nuts. Fail.

Sorry to offend at least two of you, but it has to be said. Leave the aggressive offsets to lifted trucks.

10-4, not offended (if you were referring to me)

I just like playing around with stuff. I’ve had this truck for 2 months, this is not final state. I’m one of those guys who doesn’t really care about having an amazing vehicle, I like doing stuff to them. Once they reach a point (for me) where it doesn’t make sense within my budget-I’m not a SEMA build kind of guy-I get bored and move on..

There are people with all sorts of different tastes in mods. Some people like bags, some like powder coating, some like having to use a ladder to get in their truck, some (gasp) don’t even LIKE trucks. Your opinion is totally valid and I don’t fault you for it, as a matter of fact-i appreciate it.

I would prefer that you not try to make everybody have the same opinion as you though. That’s kinda selfish and domineering...

Nope, just trying to rid and prevent this from happening to trucks.

31904

everyone is encouraged to be “different”, even when different is just plain awful.

Why not just Carolina it too

31905

^^ anyone who says that’s acceptable should be banned from owning anything.

Opinions are ok lol, People can do what they want with their build.
There's builds I don't like and some I do like.
Most ppl wont express that much detail in person to the builds they don't like, do it over the web or talk behind closed doors. Just keep that respect all over and let ppl spend their money how they want.
I stay positive and let ppl do what they like, at one point in their head it looks good to them
