Hi everyone,

I just picked up a 2019 Ram Rebel and am ecstatic about it. My only concern is that I currently have the 5 inch infotainment screen and would like to take advantage of the offerings of Apple Carplay. I was looking to purchase the whole unit as pictured here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-2021-...th-Heat-Control-Panel-68425522AB/303340707303 that would replace the whole front unit and controls and was wondering if there would be any compatibility issues as it appears to be a flush fit?

Thanks,
Nick

I would talk to a Chrysler service department. I would have lots of questions:

1. Are they the same harness plug(s) between the two units?
2. Is there any additional wiring needed for the 8.4"?
3. Is there any additional mounting hardware between the two units?
4. Is there any additional things needed to support the Nav portion (if you want to use it)?
5. Does it require different programming to run in your truck?
6. Do any of the software/features need to be turned on/activated by the dealership?

Also, the 'new' product on your eBay link has already been unboxed. Along with the fact it is "all sales final" would not give me a warm fuzzy.

A quick Google search turned this up: https://www.factorychryslerparts.com/products/14830844/68425522AB.html

The part (from FCA) MSRPs for $699 from your dealership (not including any markup they might have). Is it worth saving ~$90 (minus shipping) for something you can't return? The above discount OEM site has it for $565. I'm pretty sure it would cost less than $45 to ship it to you...plus it comes brand new, sealed in a box, and warrantied.

Long gone are the days of putting in a new component, turning it on, and enjoying the fruits of your labor and ingenuity.

Not trying to deter you but I recommend doing a lot of research before jumping into this blind as the $$$ can add up quick, especially if the dealership has to be involved for programming and software.

Just my .02

You need Nav?
If you don't, you better off buying the system that @dougstheman86 sells.
$450 for the Screen, Bezel and Module! It's a very good deal and a very easy swap for you.
