This is my first post... Ever in this forum.

In looking online, I saw the 5.7 eTorque is now a $2,645 option over the V6 eTorque (up from $1,995), and $1,450 more than the standard 5.7 Hemi. Although the V8 eTorque may seem like a nice option, and may provide a bit more torque and nominal fuel savings, it would take me many years of driving to break even on the extra $1,450 of cost. So, I just don't think it's worth it. What I am hoping to see is the ability to order the Laramie with a V6, and at least the Big Horn with a V6 and Rambox. Each time I try to build a Bighorn online, and then add Rambox, it makes me step up to the V8 - I want the better fuel savings of the V6.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I agree that at a $1,450 upcharge over the Hemi, the 5.7 eTorque isn't a great deal. If you tow a lot or put a ton of miles on your truck, it could be a good deal, but not so much if you don't put a ton of miles on.

Regarding the v6 availability, it is the standard engine on all trim levels. Ignore the B&P tool, it is very buggy and throws up all sorts of false conflicts. You can order a Laramie with the v6 now, dealership personnel might just need to mark it as a sold order before they can select the v6.

Originally @ $800 I was definitely planning on getting the e torque. Maybe it would have paid back, maybe not. I drive 20k miles/year but quite a bit is highway. I hadn't ordered yet because I also want RamBoxes and wanted to see some more movement of guys who ordered back in May. Now with the price increase I'm definitely reconsidering since its much less likely to pay off in a reasonable timeframe.

US trucks get good prices on some of the options. Looks like they keep increasing the price for the ETorque. Glad its only a $500 Canadian (so $375US).

I ordered when it was $800 and thought that was a good deal. Now that it's bumped up to this point I'd be torn deciding if I was going to keep it for a long time (probably worth it) or not.
Another thing to keep in mind is that no one pays MSRP on these trucks. If you get 10% off MSRP you should use that in your decision also, i.e. eTorque on a Hemi would be $1,305. Still a hard decision.

It's too much in my opinion. It just pushes me to look harder at the other brands.
I certainly won't pay $1450 for it.

I was surprised when I ordered that the Etorque price jumped that much even though the website still showed it as a $1995 option. I went ahead and ordered anyway. I haven’t bought a new truck in over 8 years so I figured I needed something different. I’m still a little disappointed that the Hemi didn’t gain any power boost. I hope it’s worth it. I tow quite a bit and put quite a bit of miles on per year. I guess time will tell.

I am being told by my dealer that the etorque HEMI can NOT be ordered nor can the 3.21 axle in any configuration of the HEMI... Has anyone been able to "actually" order this (I am assuming the answer is yes) and without a bunch of "magic" happening? I really want this setup (I only tow two times a year to put the boat in and pull it out) for MPG.

Plenty of people have ordered the eTorque Hemi and plenty have ordered the 3.21 axle with a Hemi. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/2019-ram1500-orders-tell-us-about-yours.2/. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/engine-rear-gear-type-of-differential.1531/

Find another dealer.

When I ordered my Limited, I was told from 2 different dealers that E torque was the only option regardless of rear end.
Not sure if that has changed, but it was only $800 difference then.

(In response to the post about NOT being able to order eTorque) I ordered the truck in my signature of this post 8/11, Hemi with eTorque. Find another dealer (or a different sales person).

I just don't see how you can make out on top with etorque, it definitely needs more refining.

Well, after owning the 5.7 eTorque engine for a couple of months, my opinion is that it is a waste of money for the $1,400+ up-charge. I will never get my money back in gas savings to match the additional cost. I'm of the opinion the best engines to put in the 1500 are the standard 5.7 Hemi, or the V6 Diesel. Love the new truck, but the extra $1,400 could have been better used on some other OEM upgrade during build. Don't waste your money on the eTorque. That is "MY" opinion.

it was in the truck on the lot-after driving it i said hell yes i will take it!-2019 rebel etorque and 3.92 gears-hemi-makes me grin!
