4x4 Power Wagon Question

I've been watching lots of reviews and real world tests of the Power Wagon, and in each video the reviewers before starting the test always lock both front and rear differentials.

But, of course, those are two different selections. You can just lock the rear, or lock both. Yet, I've never seen a single test or review where they only lock the rear.

Under what circumstances would you only want to lock the rear but not also the front? And, of course, if it's always better to lock both - why the two separate functions?

You would want to just use the rear for turning tighter.

Ahh, that makes sense.

It also explains why it's never demonstrated really.

Thanks
