Good Afternoon All,

I'm new here and have been trying to find out if anyone else has dealt with these issues. When in 4 auto and turning the wheel to make left turns, the truck will make a clicking sound. It's only on the driver's side and it also only happens if you turn the wheel 2ish turns while driving forward.

2023 1500 Limited Elite, 5.7 Etorque 14K miles. It's only gone to the dealer for its servicing along with recalls. The clicking started relatively recently like within the last 100 miles or so.
The vehicle was located in CO until a few months ago now it's in NY.

The horn also has intermittently stopped working, when pressed it won't make a sound it just clicks when you push it in. It randomly will start working again also. The horn issue has been ongoing, They initially replaced the SCCC for a recall and said that fixed the issue. That was done in CO. Now in NY, the car has gone back twice to the dealer for the same issue with the horn randomly not working. The second time the dealer couldn't replicate the problem, and the third time they couldn't do it once again. Has anyone else had this issue??

I dropped the car off on 2/17. The dealer had me come in on 2/22 because they couldn't replicate the clicking noise or the horn not working. When I drove it with the tech inside the vehicle, he acknowledged that there was a clicking sound and there was an issue with the car. Then I was called later on in the day by a RAM case manager, who said they couldn't find the issue and that it didn't exist.

I called the dealership immediately after. Where I was told that the RAM case manager wasn't comprehending what was going on and that they were wrong. I was then told that the dealer technician had no clue what is wrong with my truck after he inspected it again. They said they would start a STAR case and check the service bulletins for help. I have told them to check the front CV axle and diff again. On Monday Im going to tell them to check TSB S2319000008 and S2402000001.

I already dealt with a STAR case once before on a Big Horn and didn't have a car for 3 months. I really don't wanna go through that whole process again. I've been trying to get a rental through Stellantis because the dealer won't provide me with one as I didn't purchase the car from them. But it's been an absolute nightmare due to my case manager being unavailable to communicate, or not understanding the problems that are occurring. The case manager has been extremely reluctant to give me their supervisor. Its extremely frustrating as they have given both me and the dealership issues.

Thank you, any insight from you all would be extremely appreciated.

The shuttering sounds like a normal response while in 4 wheel drive since all the wheels are turning the same. Id double check and see if the clicking or shuttering feeling happens while in 4hi or JUST in auto….not sure if these rams have a FAD or other such device in their front axle but in jeeps they can be problematic.

The horn sounds to me like an electrical gremlin.. the type that come and go that are usually a sign of a dying battery. I had similar things happen on my last Jeep, and had them happen on my 23 bighorn. Once I switched out for a new battery, all of those little electrical gremlins went away. When I was having the battery issue in both vehicles, the battery would test just fine when I had it checked at an auto parts store. But the new battery solved the issue 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for your insight.
The clicking never happened before though, during 4 auto. It just randomly showed up. I know that it locks and engages when the car detects slippage but it would do it when it's dry out and didn't even turn a TC light on. It feels different than the shuddering and binding that happens when you're driving in 4HI and take a sharp turn. I drove the car in 4 Hi and it didn't give me any issues earlier in the week, similarly, the noise goes away in 2wd. This one feels like it is skipping teeth on the CV axle or something within the diff.

I'll try to get them to do a new battery, if they won't ill just get one. Just insane to me how the battery is going bad when it's only a little over a year old.
