35" tires on stock RAM rebel (no air-suspension)

wow i didnt realize the stockers could have 35x12.5s on them. that looks great. im surprised there is no rubbing. that truck is a beast i may have to spring for full on 35s i was going to go with 295/70s. did you modify it at all to get it so it didnt rub?

Just remember that with the stock offset and 35's, you may get them to fit but you will not be able to air down for off roading without rubbing the UCA's.

thanks for that. didnt even think of that. do you have a reccomendation for a good tires size on a leveled truck that is practical and looks good. was my originally 295/70s about right?

They are generally about 3/4 inches narrower than a 12.50. So that gives you some room.

I didn’t have to modify a thing, not even close to rubbing. I did pay a little more to get the new UCA with the 2” Ready Lift, rides awesome.

2" level just in the front.
Thanks Dan. Much appreciated and looks great.

I also have the 2" RL level kit on my Rebel. I'm still running the OE wheels and tires, but did install 1.5" spacers.

I can't for the life of me confirm the 1" factory lift came on my Rebel. There is so much conflicting information out there. The specs provided by Ram show the overall height of the Rebel as the exact same as other trims, regardless of the fact they claim a 1" factory lift and the tires are 1" larger diameter. Combined this should provide +1.5" height.
ReadyLift states that they see a lot of Rebels that do NOT have an additional 1" height in their Q&A forum. Supposedly, unless the space between the center of your front hub and the bottom of you fender-lip is greater than 22.5", you do not have a 1" lift. My Rebel measured ~21.5" prior to installing the level kit. So I'm led to believe my Rebel did not come with a 1" factory lift. The space between my rear hub and bottom of fender-lip is 24" without modification.

Would love to know what other's measure, either with Rebel or with other trims.

Thanks,
Matt

I've not yet purchased new tires, but I had convinced myself I'll go with the 295/70R18. Dan H's post has me reconsidering for full 35/12.5s. Regardless, 295/70 seems like a very good option. Plenty of options in the size, and for decent price and tire weight, too. Found some for under 60 lbs per tire, such as the Bridgestone Dueler for $400/tire. Hoping that might help prevent killing the gas mileage. Which is another thing Ram was pretty misleading about aside from the phantom 1" lift.

Not sure the 1 inch lift is phantom. My still completely stock rebel is tall as ****

I’m not super knowledgeable with this stuff. I have a very reputable custom shop nearby, they did the level. As far as the 35” KO2’s, my local Dodge dealer actually had the best price. I had them put on the KO2’s & do the speedometer calibration & it was less than $1800. I sold my takeoff factory GY Wranglers to a kid down the street for $800, so it was $1 k for the upgraded tires, not too bad IMO.

I went up to 295/70r18 via those Bridgestone Revo3s, from the stock size 33” DuraTracs in 275/70r18.

Mpg has not changed. While the Revos are taller, they are 2 lbs lighter each vs DT’s and much less aggressive, so I think it’s all a wash.

Thanks AlaskaGT. From the Readylift chatter in Q&A, it sounds like some Rebels have the lift and some don't. By any chance are you able to measure the distance between the center of your hub and the lip of the fender, both front and rear? I'm at 24" at the rear. If yours is closer to 25", then you can be confident you have the lift.
My mother in law has a 1500 limited and the difference between her height and mine at the rear axle was negligible, exacerbating my frustration.
I hope your ride has the 1" lift. But I'm skeptical mine came with one.
Perhaps the dealer swapped out the springs to upsell an off-road package without incurring the cost. Who knows. Wish I had confidence in the 1" factory lift. Getting straight answers is impossible.

Great info, thank you. Care to share a pic? Any lift or level?

Please do tell of this dealer. Here in NJ they are all dumb founded no F`en clue. I had put 35`s on my 2022 Power wagon and so far nobody makes a calibration!!

After reading all the threads the last several weeks here is what I did on my Rebel:
TRX takeoffs with new DuraTrac 285/75 tires on my stock 2019 Rebel. Tires fit perfect with zero rub anywhere. Measure about 34.5 which is about what any “35” tire runs. Width is about 11.3, little wider than stock. Truck is stock with no level, coil springs. Space between UCA is enough to get a finger through. I didn’t want any change to original suspension. Ride is great.

Has anyone tried out 305/65/18 using stock rims and suspension as is? (non air)????

I don't mind the height, but would prefer the 12" width. Thanks for any input.

Sorry brother, been off here for awhile. The dealer that did mine was in Winter Haven Florida. It was around $125 or so. I live in redneck country, so this is everyday crap around here. lol

I’ve been trying to find out if 295/65/18 will fit without hitting the UCA. I’m pretty sure 305 will hit the UCA without wheel spacers. 305/65/18 is not even 34”, so I wouldn’t think rubbing would be an issue, just clearing the UCA.

I just finished a test of 295/70/18 vs. 35X12.5
I have a 2" Ready Lift Level Kit.
Tried both sets of tires on TRX take off wheels (18X9 +19)
I felt the 295's looked too similar to stock. So crazy what a tiny difference in size makes. The 295s placed next to the 35s off the rack look so similar in size, particularly in diameter. But on the truck, there was a significant difference. The 295s looked discernibly smaller than the 35s.
Tried the 35s without spacers, keep in mind the +19 offset on the TRX wheel. At first it seemed to work as there was ~0.25" space between tire and ball joint. However, reversing at full turn produced friction between the inside of the tire and one side of the upper control arm.
I've since installed 1.5" spacers and there is no rubbing.
I didn't have any contact with plastic/flaps with or without the spacers. But it sure is close at full turn.
