35’s on 2019 Not Possible?

Just purchased a 2019 longhorn yesterday and the Ram dealer’s aftermarket specialist told me:
“a software module is not available for the 2018’s or 2019’s so 35s are not yet compatible with anything after 2017 models. Without the module the vehicle speed and mileage is inaccurate and the electronic gearshifting would not work as intended.”
Yet I’m seeing so many 35s on 2018/2019 models. Am I missing something? My truck is will take 4 to 6 weeks to build and I hope I might have an option for 35’s. HELP!

I know my speedo is off with 35’s. When it says 60mph I am actually going around 65. I got the 3:92 axle to help offset the larger tires. Seems to have no problem with acceleration or shifting. Drives quite nice actually. I am old school though, had many trucks in the day without this electronic stuff, just put bigger tires on them and go, knowing your speedo and shifting will be different. The trucks of today should actually be able to handle the larger tires better with the 8 speed tranny’s compared to the 4-6 speeds of the past. It is what it is. I guess I’m not worried about it or I wouldn’t have done it. That’s just me though!;) Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback. You wouldn’t happen to have any specifications or pics of your ride would you? I’m looking for some visuals so that I could decide what to get. I might wait until the software module is released but I have a tendency to be knee-jerk. I also came across this website stating that Mopar has released a number of items for the 2019‘s including 35s:

Sure, here are a couple pics. You can read the details of my accessories and see more pics in my thread “All fixed up!” In the 5th gen mods/accessories section.

Itll be fine. My dealer said they can't adjust the speedo to accommodate. Hypertech has a programmer for 200 bucks that can. The Mopar lift is even marketed as being able to accommodate 35" tires.

I use the Hypertech. Speedometer is dead nuts on now. I didn't want to spend the money on it, but there's no way of knowing how long until the dealer has the ability to correct the speedometer, if ever. And after driving around for a while I realized being off 5mph slow bothered me and I was driving too fast. Well I always drive too fast, but I was driving 5 mph faster than too fast.

Great! Could you share a model number? I haven’t been able to find that yet.

I've seen some 35s reportedly on stock 17s on https://www.customwheeloffset.com

I'd recommend using this site to see if others have already done whatever setup you're trying. You can even search in regards to trimming the wheel well in addition to lifts or levels.

I seen one fellow put 320 at 33 inches on his 19 with no rub, so I think a small lift can make way for a 35 easy

Thanks. That's great to hear considering a couple people telling me that it won't work because the 2019's have a 'Security Gateway Module'...whatever that is.

I think it does. The hypertech plugs in to this module instead of the obdII port. Very easy to do.
