My engine sounds like a diesel when idling...I am embarrassed to say I didn't listen to any other trucks before I purchased because there are very few in my area. I can't seem to upload a video clip of the sound either.

You should go back to the dealer and have them repair it. The '25 I drove was the most quiet truck I've ever driven. From the driver seat I literally had to look at the tachometer to even tell if it was running.

Having said that, sounding like a diesel would be a great quality.

Is it fast clicking?
Could be the high pressure fuel pump and would be normal.

Otherwise I’d suspect an exhaust leak. Probably at the turbo.

Mine is completely quiet, I have close to 4,000 miles on it now and it has never been loud at idle.

My 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten HO also has the ticking noise at idle and has a vibration sound during cold startup. I hope they don't call it normal because it truly sounds like a diesel engine. I didn't notice it when the driver drove into my driveway. The driver drove close to 200 miles and have no clue how he treated the motor.

My Limited Longhorn is very quiet. Miss the sound of the Hemi but the power makes up for the lack of noise.

Recommend you go back to the dealership as something is wrong if it sounds like a diesel truck.

It could just be lifter sounds, the 3.6 has loud lifters as well. Doesn’t mean it’s broken. The vibration sounds like the cold start misfire there is a technical service bulletin for. It requires a flash update from the dealer. @j’s 2025Tungsten

A gasoline engine should not sound like a diesel..ever. Sounds like you are having the fairly common misfire issue which I believe TSB 18-071--24 addresses. I'm picking my 2025 Rebel up this Friday and they updated with this TSB. Salesman has driven it and says it's perfect. Time will tell.

Thank you for your insite.

The black and white exterior color go great together. I am dropping the truck off Monday and hope they just don't give me the "Nothing wrong, it's supposed to sound like that or we could find anything wrong excuse".

Possible, fast clicking and the fuel pump was what the intake person leaned towards. But if it's normal for a fuel pump to sound like that, then every engine should have the same sound. I am a retired F-16 Crew Chief and you can an odd sound while the aircraft is running it raise your suspensions of it being more than just common. I just spent 88,000.00 plus on a new truck and yes the engine didn't cost the 88,000.00 you should get a sound engine that sounds just like the next one. Now I also know it's mechanical and one day they are mechanical sound and the next they break or show signs of breaking.
My biggest concern is that the driver who drove the truck to me wanted to see the power this truck had and abused it in away that I could never prove. None the less think you for your insight.

I have the 2025 Tungsten and motor whisper quiet at start up and running with 1400 miles so far. Runs great with lots of power for a 6 banger for sure! It does have a rattle in the speaker. Its in shop today to have Subwoofer pins put in it, and it has a rattle very fine low take off..... They think it's related to Subwoofer pins. Will know more after today and post follow up if they finish it today. So far I am really impressed with the I-6 Ram Tungsten,
