Hey all, hope everyone is doing well given these crazy times we're all experiencing. I searched throughout this forum and others but couldn't get a definitive answer so hopefully someone can chime in.

I'm currently running 295/60r20 (33.94") tires on aftermarket wheels (upgraded from the 275/55r20 wild peak AT3's found on the ORG). My spare is still the 18" steelie but I want to replace the tire to ~same diameter as my current setup in the event of an emergency. 285/70r18 (33.71") is pretty much as close as it'll get without changing out the spare wheel to 20" - can we confirm a ~34" spare will fit in the factory location? Last thing I want to do is pony up some cash and wind up having to carry my spare in the bed because it won't fit where it should; def NOT looking to do that.

So, what say you?

For sure it will fit. I got a 295/70 to jam in there. It was the cheapest AT I could find close to the 20” size I’m running

funny, I was just having this same thought. I went with 295 60 20s and want to replace the 245 70 18 spare with something closer in size.
the price difference between a 275 70 18 and 285 70 18 is pretty significant, so was looking at the 275 to saves some $$$$.
Is a .78" that big a difference for a spare?

I would say it’s a big difference but if you don’t mind moving it to the front or airing up/down the other side...you are fine short term

.78 doesn’t sound like much when you draw it on a piece of paper but when we’re talking about rotating with revolutions per mile it is a substantial difference. The largest 275 would be a Falken AT3W at 33.4 or the Maxxis Razr MT at 33.5. I also want to go to the 285 route with ridge grappler‘s. 10 pounds lighter than the 295s and not much difference in height.
