Ok, New here. I'm a long time jeeper. Just got my truck a couple months ago. Bighorn 4x4 night edition, no ORP. All stock right now. Searched and found a lot of helpful posts but I'm specifically deciding between LT295/55r20 (33x12.2) vs LT285/60r20 (33.5x11.4) in falken wildpeak at4s. Im keeping the factory night edition rims for awhile and they are +19. I bought 1.5" spacers that should make them -19 (ideally wanted 1.25" but takes 3 weeks to make). From what i see on customwheeloffset that offset should eliminate any chance of uca rub, though i don't know if the more negative offset will create any rub inside the fender liners. Im getting the bilstein 5100 height adjustable shocks to level things.

So does anyone run either of these tire sizes and what should i know before pulling the trigger? Photos please! I scratched 275/60r20s from the list cause they look too skinny for my liking. Want to stay between 33 and under 34.

Thx in advance

Following as well! I have 275/60/20’s now in Falkin Wildpeak ATW3. Great tires, even 3/4 wore out still pretty good. They look to small. I’m looking to go to LT285/60/20 In ATW4’s.
I do have 1-1/4” Bora spacers if needed, but would like to know if I would really need them.

Well i think I'm just going to have to be a guinea pig with this one. I went ahead and ordered the tires. Im thinking they "should" clear uca's just barely, but ill probably have to put in the spacers just to be safe cause discount tire won't install spacers but they  will take them off. Maybe i can have them measure as they install. Either way, should be good then off to get the level done. Ill check clearances before the level, after it, then report back

Ok, picked up the truck from discount. 285/60r20 at4s seem to fit great with no rubbing. Nearly identical spacing between ucas as before (tire measurements would say id lose .1" which isn't noticeable).

Getting the level kit on tomorrow, but it already looks so much better without the highway tires on. 1000008329.jpg

I love the look, they look awesome. That is the exact size and tire that I will be going with. I can’t wait to hear how they do in the weeks to come. I’m surprised the spacing on the UCA is the same. I’m glad to hear it though. I thought I might need spacers. Do they stick out noticeably farther than the ones you had before?

Ill look after work. So the 275/55s from the factory were 11.2 (i think) wide. These say 11.4 so in not too surprised in them not hitting the ucas, but i wasn't certain. If you have 275/60s, the specs on those are 10.9 wide from what i recall. So that would be roughly 1/4" wider on each side from where you are at now.

Ill take some side shots later and i want to fully turn the wheel both ways to get the pre-level clearance.

Anyway im already liking the look of the 1.5" taller tire. Depending on what it looks like after the level, i may still put a 1.25 or 1" spacer for a wider stance but am cautious about having rocks flung all over the side. Maybe get some flaps.

As to the 1"spacer, i measured the studs and they were 1 5/8 long (rear) . My rims have pockets 1"deep. In theory, the 1"should work, but in practice, who really knows!

I’m definitely going 285/60/20 ATW4’s! I already have 1-1/4” bora spacers. Had them on for awhile, loved the look, but the tires seem to have a vibration with them on. Took them off and it goes away. Might be the tires or just the spacers making it more sensitive. Not to mention a black truck in the winter with spacers making every wet spot throw up on the door.
I may put them back on with the new tires or just wait and see if the larger tire helps the look enough to not need spacers….or just get wheels with 0 offset. 🤷‍♂️

I can confirm that 1” Bora spacers will work with those wheels. I installed 3/4” in front and 1” in the rear. IMG_8886.jpeg IMG_9535.jpeg IMG_9786.jpeg

That's good to know, thanks
I love the look! I wish i could deal with black, but i just can't here in AZ... but a black truck always looks amazing.
Thanks man. I Appreciate it. Here in northeast PA we get four seasons. And with the tint, it helps in July and August.

They definitely don't stick out much if at all with my factory rims. From the front it kind of looks like it but it really doesn't. It really depends on the angle when i take the Pic 😂. Ill see how i like it after the level and decide on the 1" boras.

By the way, the sidewalls of the AT4s look more aggressive imo than the at3s i have on my jeep. The Falken Wildpeak is blocky and raised more. And they ride great! Everyone freaks out over E load tires but i have them on my jeep too and don't notice any harshness. My truck ones run at 39 psi, my jeep 34.

Looking good! Your tires won’t stick out any further after you level the truck. IMO, I think your truck would look great with 1” Bora’s and the new AT4w’s. They are more aggressive for sure. The only reason I didn’t go Falken this time is because I’m running 285/65r20 Yoko Geolander AT G015 ~59lbs per tire vs AT4W ~68lbs.

I’m wanting the ATW4’s since I have the ATW3’s now and love them. Concern I have is the weight going to LT285/60/20 from P275/60/20.

I know the weight can be concerning to some. The LT285/60s are 63lbs each. I think that's 15-17lbs heavier that what came on the truck (which are basically passenger car tires! ), but it's not really super noticeable to me. i have 315/70r17s on my jeep at 75lbs each and that's a 3.6L v6. The hemi doesn't care too much about the tire weight and nor do i, but i know that's not for everyone. Also consider you get 5mm more tread depth than the P tires

Yeah and i realize the level won't change wheel offset, i just meant if I'm happy with the overall look i may not feel the need for the spacers. But that little bit of poke does look great for a more aggressive stance.

ATW4’s are 63.3lbs.
AT3W’s 47.8lbs.

What gears do you have? 3.92’s and you’ll hardly feel a difference. 3.21’s, a slight difference in pep.

I have 3.92’s so I should be good. Just a little hit to MPG and ride quality. Which I believe I will be ok with both. If I even notice either.

I have the 3.21s. Not a big difference to me. I have etorque, maybe that makes it not so noticeable on the starts?

I suppose it does help. Some is better than none. Lol. When I went from P275/60r20 to LT275/65r20 Patagonia MT’s on my 4th gen 3.21 Ram, the hemi still had plenty of balls and couldn’t really tell a difference with my driving style. I went with 3.92’s in my 5th gen because I knew I was going 35’s. But in hind sight, it’s almost negligible to me since I don’t tow often.

Great choice on size. A little late to the thread since you pulled the trigger. You may have a slight rub when in full lock and going over a driveway curb. That is my experience with the tire size on a stock height Bighorn. However, I ended adding the front Bilstein 5100s on setting #5 which gave me just about 1.75" of lift (evens the truck). So, bye bye rub.

Have been running the tire size setup and level for nearly 4.5 years with no issues. Tires on vehicle since:
