I have 275/55r20‘s on my truck now.
i want 275/45r20’s to lower the ride height a bit.

all else being equal, will i notice a difference in ride?

Less sidewall, you'll feel the bumps and such more....and your speedo will be off a good bit (unless you program it obviously)

Yes i will reprogram for size.
really wondering about performance differences.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by performance?

if you throw in the two sizes on the link below, you’ll notice that you have a 22.4% reduction in sidewall height.

Does lower sidewall mean more firm and less flex on corners?
Does lower sidewall mean harsh on bumps?
can i get the first thing without the other?

Yes, but minimally because of the small amount you’re dropping in aspect ratio.

Yes, but you are only dropping 1.1” of sidewall. You will know, but you still have a total of 2.45” of sidewall around the rim- that’s a lot.

As far as getting number one without number two, you could look at 10 ply tires and see if they are available in the size you are looking for. If that does not work out, run flats are another option, albeit a very expensive one. I almost wonder if a reverse level or something would make you feel a little better about the stance of the truck.

I have heard nothing but negative about the ”feel“ f run flat tires.
and i heard 10 ply are way stiff on bumps.
many many rumors and tales of woe.
