Anyone have any information on potentially mounting the new tow mirrors on a slightly older 5th gen? I have non-tow power, holding, heated, with the camera’s. I want to go to tow mirrors, whether the new style or old style, but thought I’d see if anyone knew what was possible.

Not going to be possible. They have a different canbus architecture.

I am not sure about the 1500's but on the 2500 the doors are cut out differently on the 2023 and newer models, and the lower bolt holes are moved.

Bottom line up front: If you want to get tow mirrors go for the generation correct flip up style. Those will work.

The older style flip up mirrors will be plug and play. The camera will have to be calibrated so your 360 camera lines and image are correct. I've done many of these swaps and the main thing is to get a set of tow mirrors with matching options as your standard mirrors. The heavy duty mirrors won't fit.

As far as the new 25 up tow mirrors for the 1500s I haven't seen any pulled off yet to see if they could physically be bolted up.

For the heavy duties the 23 and up tow mirrors (now the 25 and up for 1500s) they could be bolted up but you'd have to either modify the door or the mirror. The mirror functions weren't plug and play. Last update I saw is you could get 90% of the features working with a door module swap but not everything.

Best of luck
