I have yet to have my forward collision warning and automatic braking to work on my '25 Limited. I figured the system is different with the driving assist, but I can't even force it to work.
My '19 and '22 Limiteds would engage frequently, but not this one. I've changed the sensitivity levels in settings but still nothing. I thought about sensors or camera issues, but the adaptive cruise and the active driving assist both work.

This is a very important feature and I would like it to operate effectively. Any one else have this issue?

I'm curious on this as well as I have not gotten the emergency braking to work even when trying. I've had the buzzer warning go off like twice since owning the truck. A lot less then my other GM car.

Hmm I deactivated mine, when I first bought it, but let me go try this out and report back. I'm about to go for a quick drive!

I will say my 19' was VERY sensitive. It would slam the brakes on backing out of a driveway that wasn't even that steep. My 24' was WAY less sensitive, but still worked if you were about to back into something. On my 25', I haven't had it long enough to be in a situation to have it activate, but it doesn't jack on the brakes backing out of a driveway like my 19' did.

If you have something inflatable, try putting that behind your truck and try backing into it. ;)

I'll just get my wife to stand behind the truck LOL JK JK..

I don't think there is a way to test it without risking injury or damage. It also only works above 3 mph so if you are slowly creeping up on an object to see if it will automatically brake it won't.

Just realized there may be a way to test it without risk of damage or injury. You could place a soft object that won't damage your truck in front or behind and drive at it faster than 3 MPH. I had tall grass cause it to activate once when trying to back into it to turn around. Had to turn off my rear park sense to back up in tall grass.

How are you even testing this? I mean, it's nice to know it's working, but not sure I'd want to purposely try to make it activate.what happens if your reaction time isn't fast enough and you actually hit something?
That's why I was suggesting an inflatable item if you have one.

Years ago when my wife bought an Explorer ST, Ford flew us out to the Ford Performance racing school. In that school, they basically let you beat the crap out of the vehicles and ran you through all the features in the vehicle. For the emergency breaking feature, they had a blow up shape of a car. You then had to drive 30 mph right at it without touching the brake and the vehicle would slam on the brakes and come to a stop before hitting it. It was pretty fun!

I am referring mostly to the Forward automatic braking where my previous ones would flash brake quite often -- This one not yet even though trying to get it to activate without risking getting into a wreck.

My '19 was way too sensitive backing up for sure with my '22 not as much.

I don't understand how this is considered a "very important feature". It's more of an annoyance than importance.

It's important enough that federal law requires the feature on all cars by 2029. There is no doubt it saves lives.

Federal law requires a camera to back up. Federal law requires a gap between the hood and engine to soften the blow when hitting a pedestrian. Federal law requires so much stuff that people are forgetting how to drive and allowing the car to do everything for them since they don't pay attention.

With all of this crap, replacing a windshield now costs over $2500. Mandatory crumple zones are costing thousands for a simple bump. I've seen cars with $10k in damages when it looks like a minor impact.

How did people drive for 100 years without a mandatory back up camera? How did people drive for 100 years without pedestrian protection? How did people drive for 100 years without lane keep assist or forward collision warning?

If people would put their phones down, leave their food for when they get where they're going, and actually learn how to drive, we wouldn't need a stupid computer to stop the vehicle because of an object in front or behind the vehicle!!

Rant over.

mine seems to be working, catches me by surprise, it happens pretty close, I have it set on Med distance.

Simple, they just run over more people in the past.

Perhaps some have figured that adding safety features to the tools we use is far more likely to improve safety than trying to use magic to cure normal flawed human behavior.

I was in the same boat wondering if the emergency braking worked in my 25 Lone Star with the level 2 group and Night edition. However I can confirm it does work and actually saw the emergency BRAKE in all red with the audible alerts and felt the brakes being slammed on by the truck. I just wish there was an actual way to see the distance settings more than just vague wording.

On an unrelated note I also learned around the same time that the navigation does have alerts for cameras that also comes out of nowhere!

Me not hitting something is an important feature to me when us humans can make mistakes looking away too long without cell phones. It happens and I would rather have the feature and me not hit something by accident. My Escalade and my previous Ram's have saved me a few times that were well worth the feature for sure. I'm glad the camera is always looking forward and never looks away for a second.

Unfortunately, while some of us still pay attention to driving about 90% of the population now feels it's okay to text, eat, do other things while piloting a vehicle going down the highway at 80 mph so it's going to help keep those people from killing themselves and others.
