Glad I found this site. Just about to purchase 2021 1500 limited and I’m torn on rim/tire. I much prefer the look of the 22” rims but wondering if the 20” offers a smoother ride. Any thoughts on that and I’m guessing the 22” are easier to damage? Thanks

Welcome.. anytime you have a taller sidewall with more rubber between u and the road tbe ride will be smoother. That being said my stock 22's ride great and will suit me fine for winters!

I have 22” rims as well with air suspension and my 2021 RAM 1500 Longhorn rides like a luxury vehicle on highways. I agree on the look of the 22” rims versus the 20” rims.

Well I look at things different then some, plus my truck gets out in fields and dirt roadways.
I detest 22's and don't like 20's when I was looking for my Laramie or similarly equiped
one of the main considerations was 18 inch rims, light colored interior and the bench seat
without that huge center counsol taking up all the room.
I don't like the low profile tires on a vehicle which needs traction in poor conditions.
Too many years and instances where low profile tires couldn't provide the required traction
once you got off smooth pavement.

I haven't had the 22" so can't comment on the ride but I would generally say the 20" are a good compromise on looks vs ride and traction for those who do a mix of on road and light off-road driving. If you don't leave the pavement of drive snowy roads the 22's are fine and if you do lots of off-road or un-plowed driving you'd be better with 18 or even 17's for more sidewall. The other consideration is cost of new tires if you plan to keep the truck or upgrade - 20's have come down a lot in price to be closer to 18's but I am guessing 22's might still cost a bit more or limit options.

The 22’s were the only option that came on my truck I wasn’t really looking for. I don’t know that I’d pay $2k for them on a new build but they have grown on me.
