Hey guys, so long story short I had a small incident with a parking garage and it led to my roof being replaced. All fine and dandy, I had it painted gloss black. A few months ago, I got it back and about a week later it developed this absolute nightmare of a rattle that sounded like you were welding. Above 50 mph it would start. I have taken it back 3-4 times for other things like panels and trim being gouged or broken during repair. So I finally took it upon myself to investigate it. Turns out it was the drip moulding on the right side. The front clip was slightly loose among 2 more that were loose. The noise traveled to the windshield where it meets the steel, and it was impossible to find. I popped the trim off and I found that the bracket that clips are attached to are glued to the roof panel itself. Are these normally glued? Is there a stud that they slide over? Can I just reorder a piece of trim for that side, remove the glue and start over? The body shop will look at it this Monday and I want them to reattach correctly with new trim, my question is how do they normally attach from the factory?
