20x9 295/60 ... 0 or -12 offset?

I originally went with -12 Fuel Rebels w/ 295/70R18s, because of the big caliper. But, they still scraped it on occasion (there was a scratch ring inside the rim), and I got tired of moving the weights at rotation. And I had that common rub on the driver front fender. So, I sold them to a Chevy.

I'm wanting to go to 295/60R20, but it seems most go with 0 offset not -12. I completely understand the dimensions and such but curious if there's anyone in my situation that can elaborate on why they chose 0 offset?
 
It’s just a matter of how far out an individual wants their tire …. Some go 0 to avoid stone chips …. Personally, I think -12 will give it a better stance

^^ Thanks, but like I said, I completely understand the dimensions. But generally speaking, it seems more people go with -12 on 18s, and 0 on 20s. The rim selection when shopping seems to mirror that too: Lots more 18s in -12 than 20s. Just wondering if anyone had insights into why.
 
Simply preference.

I’ve had 20mm 18s, 12 and 19mm 20s, and 19mm 22s.

Just depends on the look you want.

I think it just varies depending on what people drive and how much they want their wheels to poke out. I personally like my wheels to be flush with my fenders on trucks, but in the past I've had jeeps with 17" wheels, -18 offset. Some vehicles to me look better with wheels that poke, while others look better and cleaner with flush wheels. Just all personal preference.

What site are you looking at for wheels? I've used custom offsets in the past and they have tons of 20" with negative offset.

With spacers (0 offset originally)
18x9 -7 up front
18x9 -11 rear

Rim itself sits flush with the oem fender flares, but I hadn't considered that 35's are wider than the rim itself, and so theres probably a 1/2" or so tire poke, roughly the radius'd area of the tire. Minimal splash along the side of the car since that poke area doesn't really contact the pavement.
 
I am in the same boat as you but mosty just want the fuel rebels. I have an OEM size set of General Grabber ATX I ordered for the truck before it came in. I am trying to figure out the right size fuel wheels to get. I'd like it to be the same footprint or just a smidge wider. These are what I have picked out for my patriot blue limited.

The 20x10 usually are -12 to -18 or so. The 20x9 usually 0 in aftermarket. I liked the 0 offset on my truck with a level. Now that it’s lifted I’d prefer a - offset but not going to fork over the money to do it. Might swap with someone if it came up
