Hello All,
I am new to this forum and am in the market for buying Wheels and Tires. I have a 2020 1500 with a 3.5 inch Ready Lift. I am deciding between these 2 options.

  • 20X10 -25 offset 33X12.5 Tires
  • 20X12 -44 offset 33X12.5 Tires
I love the stance of the -44 offset but am nervous about my paint getting destroyed as well as the wear on the suspension. Any type of feedback would be appreciated!

As long as your not gunna be flying down gravel roads throwing rocks up like crazy your paint will be fine! Your trucks gunna get dirty quicker either way you go... Even just a -12 is gunna be enough to slop crap down the sides of your truck.. I wouldn't worry about it, if you like the more aggressive stance of the -44 then rock it!! Lifted trucks look better dirty anyways!

I appreciate motivation!!!

I think one thing to consider is the amount of trimming involved with either set up. Going out wide will have the tires hit front and back most likely. Might be ok cause its 33s vs 35s

I’m running the 20x12 with -44, 35x12.50 on a 6” lift. The tires stuck out approx 2.5 inches from the side of the truck but fixed that with the bushwhacker pocket flares now the are tucked perfectly. Not to many problems with crap getting slung down the side. The -44 do have a aggressive stance. Very minimal trimming was needed.

Thanks! On custom offsets some people say there is trimming needed with 33X12.5 with the 3..5 inch lift and some people say there is no trimming needed. What do you think?

I run a 20x10 -19 with a 33x12.5 tire on a 3.5” lift and I personally think it’s the perfect stance. I contemplated going with a 12 wide wheel but thought they looked too far out. I did no trimming and still have an aggressive stance so it was a win win in my book.

Since you will be running 33’s I would think minimal. I’m not a expert though, I have dealt with custom offsets before if you call them they have some well versed people that would be able to give you a more details.

Perfect, thanks for the insight!

I have 20x12 -51 with 33x12.50r20. I like the wide stance. Added bushwacker fender flares and go rhino rb20 side steps for added protection. It still slings water, but it’s a truck and I like the look.

Any rubbing or trimming on the initial install?

I am on stock Rebel suspension right now and I had very minor rub at full lock. I did the mod to cut off the tab and reshape the liner. Now that I have the flares, I rub quite a bit at full lock. Getting the front raised 2” next week so the rubbing will be no more!

Hey man, I’m thinking of getting the Bushwacker pocket fender flares. Did you have to trim your Bushwacker flares with that setup? I have no flares at the moment and I had to trim the inner corners of the stock mudflaps on the front. I have 285/65r20 with 20x10 -24mm wheels.

Please don't put bushwackers on that truck and ruin it. Your truck is so sweet as is. I actually used it as a huge reference for the 3.5 lift on 285/65 I'm currently doing.

Thanks man! Yeah, I decided I was not doing fender flares. I rather just clean my car more often lol..
