It sound almost like a low key backfire or mini cold startI test drove a new 5.7 a few weeks ago. I also noticed a noise coming from the back of the truck every time the engine restarted from a stop. I turned off the stop/start and the noise quit. Just another issue being cause by the despised eTorque system.
When I test drove a Hurricane, the rear end noise was not there, even with stop/start enabled.
What I heard was more of a snapping noise, like something letting go of another part.It sound almost like a low key backfire or mini cold start
That's good information. None of the trucks I mentioned had the GT exhaust. Just another reason to disable stop/start IMHO.It’s a little exhaust pop or backfire when motor starts back up. That’s totally normal for the GT exhaust which I understand all 2026 Hemi’s have now. Mine has done that since new in 2022. I normally have the start/stop disabled but the pop is there every single time when I forget.
