2025 Tungsten Informal Review

Sounds fabulous. I don't have the coin for anything like that but glad you like it.

What I don't see are buyers for $120K Grand Wagoneers... 🤔🙄

I ordered an Escalade and a GW at the same time. Platinum Sport and a loaded Series III. GW got here first, got it for $107k. Even the best Cadillac dealers were charging mark ups and I don't play that game. The other factory is I have a driver I use quite a bit and the GW is more comfortable to get driven in than the Escalade. The Escalade is more fun to drive. The GW is significantly larger than the Escalade as well, wider and longer. So that's in general why I bought the GW. However, the Escalade service experience is superior to anything Stellantis can offer and I really miss that. They would deliver your loaner and take your car in for service, with a smile. I've thought about getting Escalade V for the wife but $160k is hard to swallow.

My son's GF parents have a Grand Wagoneer, it is amazing. My wife had an Escalade and it was great as well but just couldn't justify that cost for a SUV when our kids are a few short years from moving out.

Son compared the 2 and got the Escalade for appx $105-107 vs the GW for more, maybe 15K more. That was in 2023.
No caddy dealer markup, Stellantis wanted $5K over MSRP. They drove both and liked the Escalade better. Plus he liked the 6.2, though the GM lifter problem is a bit worrysome. Thats one of the many reasons you get an extended warranty…

Maybe the GW can cement itself as a “luxury” brand but for many its still a “Jeep”, though price and size X large.

Most are selling around 100-105 for GW SIII which is more in line with Caddy and Lincoln.

Beautiful truck but I'll never understand those tires/wheels with "4X4/Offroad."

Well, I completed my first small road trip with the truck. It's a hell of a truck. I will confirm these are the most comfortable seats I've ever had, I didn't think I would but I use the massaging function daily. The "auto pilot" works great, every bit as good as supercruise from my limited experience with it.

I love the ride of the offroad package, it definitely feels more planted than my '19 limited did. The only think I'm missing is wet driving to see how the tires do.

The truck has plenty of power but I do miss the growl of the V8. Passing is a breeze. Fuel economy is similar to my Hemi, and isn't something I particularly care about.

Overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I do wish the truck had the color changing LEDs inside because I'm fancy like that LOL.

Any update? How's your truck? did you add ceramic tint? please post some pictures here 🙏

Reviving this... can you post closer pictures of the wheel and tire?

I'll get some better pictures and more details later. I've yet to see pics of the off road package on a tungsten so here they are. Crappy angle but IMO looks great in person.

First and foremost, the new sound system. It's absolutely insane. So far above the Harmon Kardon in my limited. It's also noticeably better than the McIntosh in my wife's GW. I'd argue it's the best sounding OEM system I've ever heard.

Next up, the engine. It's smooth and it's fast, but as suspected it's quite boring to drive. The positive is it's so quiet that I'm not embarrassed. Those Ecoboost sound like weed eaters. But to clarify again, it's definitely quick and there is almost no lag. I haven't floored it from a stop but I imagine it won't disappoint. Please keep in mind I learned to drive stick shift at 16 on an 98 bored and stroked Viper with nearly 800hp...so what's boring to me might not be to others

The interior is amazing. No real complaints. The seats are by far the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a truck. This interior is well above the limited, which is above the Denali ultimate, which is light years ahead of the Ford limiteds. Ram hit a home run with it. If I had to nitpick one thing it would be the lack of a physical seat warmer/cooler button..perhaps it exists but I've yet to find it

And for those wondering about the ride with the 22s and off road package...it rides great IMO and the slightly more aggressive tires give it a nice look. I'm debating a leveling kit but then again I don't want any chance of being hassled about warranty. It could be in my head but I feel like the turning radius is slightly reduced from my 19 limited...but that's likely in my head

I've since added ceramic tint and I'll post pics after it gets back from the dealership. 20% all the way around, 30% pano roof and 50% windshield.

If you have any questions let me know, I'm happy to help where I can.
Nice looking truck.

I have a 20 laramie w/18's and a 21 limited w/20s, both with ORG and the Falken AT3. I'm a tire guy (old ex-roadracer) and they have been the best I have driven in 30yrs. the only negative is they are not the best in the wet. I can push the front end on sharp turns, and it has gotten a little worse w/30K miles. A small tradeoff for me vs what else they do very well. Plus I have to have the snow tire rating for my 20, so I can't compromise on that.
