Got my brand new Ram on Thursday which I ordered on July 12th. Driving last evening I got a check engine light. Less than 130 miles on it and it came on. Light hasn't shut off, didn't throw me any kind of notification and the Ram connect health report isn't showing an issue. I am praying when I take it back tomorrow that there isn't a big issue and this is just a fluke....

Might just be the mis-fire code that a few people are getting. How is it driving?

It drives perfectly fine otherwise. No flashing check engine indicator, just a solid indicator light. I hadn't heard about the misfire code. Simple fix?

Buy a cheap OBDII reader on Amazon, they usually start at $15 or so. Use the Torque phone app and check the code. Hopefully just a minor emissions code, you can clear it with the app, and see if it pops up again.

I personally would leave the code up and have the dealer take a look.

Not quite simple but they are working on TSB updates.

I got a check engine light on my 2025 Ram recently. I bought the truck in September. The check engine light turned out to be related to something with the evap system. They said there was an update for it and performed the update, took a few minutes, and sent me on my way. I asked about the misfire update, but they said my truck didn't show any misfires codes so they did not do the the misfire update.

Took it in yesterday. They had to order a part. They picked it up today and Dealer had to replace a vacuum seal that wasn’t getting fully closed. However, they ran another diagnostic and got another error. I’m without a truck the next few days which is inconvenient but I just want the problem(s) fixed.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Engine light came back on at 1000 miles. Took it back in. Now saying an evap issue. Have to wait on a part. Hoping this isn’t going to be the norm. Gas mileage is no where near advertised so far either.

Did they give you a code?

It never is, specially with Ram. The test vehicle on the window sticker is a 2wd Tradesman with 3.21 gearing. You have an opposite end of the spectrum 4x4 with knobby tires and 3.92

Mine had the CEL come on for the evap system also. They said there was some update for it. They did the update and sent me on my way in about 15 minutes. I haven't had the CEL come on again, so hopefully all good. I'm currently at about 6k miles.

They are stumped at the moment.

Makes sense

Replacing the fuel pump. They worked through ab unch of stuff with the STAR folks. We shall see, the plan is to get it back after Christmas.

Update: Got it back on New Years Eve. According to the dealership, they identified that there are rams that were built and installed with a fuel pump valve that is incorrect.

Concern
*Check Engine Light Is On - Diagnose Concern [ CUSTOMER STATES CEL IS BACK ON, CHECK AND ADVISE. 1

Cause

Verified clients concern, check engine light illuminated. Attached battery maintainer and witech pod. Performed vehicle scan report and configuration report.
Faults stored in PCM for P1CEA-00; Boost side evap purge system performance.
Visually inspected all lines from purge valve to intake manifold and turbo inlets, found no kinked or incorrect lines. Removed purge valve and vacuum teste .
Found the check valve internal to purge valve from turbo inlet to purge valve inlet sticking. Suggest replacing evap purge valve and re-testing. Suggest client to drop vehicle so extensive verification drives can be performed. Removed and replaced purge valve per findings. Test drove vehicle to verify repairs, fault returned.
Opened star case. Performed fuel tank leak test. Found fuel tank pressure goes negative when removing the funnel quickly. Vacuum and pressure tested line to fuel tank from fuel tank pressure sensor, found line holds vacuum and pressure.
Compared to another like vehicle, line should not hold vacuum or pressure.
Borescoped inlet to fuel pump, found inlet was manufactured incorrectly and does not have a port. Suggest replacing fuel pump

Correction

Removed and replaced fuel pump. Cleared all faults. Performed small leak verification test to verify repairs, test was successful and passed. Test drove vehicle to verify repairs, fault did not return. No further work required.
