2025 Ram Adding Power Running Boards

real truck just listed the 2025 compatible running boards. They’ve now stated they have no intention of providing a solution for older versions of the running boards to work with the new 2025 ram. You have to purchase the new set. Here’s their response:

Hello,

You are unable to just purchase an OBD plug and move it over to the 2025 kit . Due to the kit having a smart series set up. This means you will need and obd plug, wiring harness, controller and boards.

Did they release a 2025 2500 Kit yet, have not seen it on the website?

Doesn’t look like it. The 1500 boards show as “temporarily unavailable”. The 2500 says “not compatible”.

I got tired of waiting for the AMP steps to find a solution for the 25's, so I ordered the OEM Mopar boards. Mechanically they're easy to install. Wiring is kind of a PITA. The dealership I ordered them through added the sales code for free. Overall I'm satisfied.
Where did you order? My dealer can't find part numbers and stated not available.

I spoke to Realtruck yesterday morning and they stated release this year with no hard eta.

I ordered directly from Mopar and picked a local dealer with the lowest price.

Translation: We hope to figure this out, but don't hold your breath.

I installed power boards from Rough Country on my 2023 Ram and they look same as Mopar ones and a lot cheaper. Plus you only need the positive and negative from the battery you good to go!

Been waiting on mine since February. 4-Wheel Parts just keeps saying "2 more weeks" Think I'm getting my money back and going static. Shame on These people taking money for something that aint there.

I just installed Original Equipment power running boards on my 2025 1500. I found a dealer that sold them at the mopar.com parts price and would let me pick them up and avoid the $460 shipping charge. I installed them myself, but it is not for the faint of heart. You will need tools to take the wires out of a micro connector, be ready to remove the front inner front wheel wells and be read to crawl under the dash. I was careful and today I stopped by my local dealer late on Friday afternoon and they agreed to try to update my software (and find out if I did it right) About a hour later they brought the truck around with the boards up! It all works and I can turn them off from my UConnect screen. My vertically challenged wife can now get in my truck without feeling like a mountain climber. I could not be happier!

how much did parts cost and approximately how long was install time?

I have a small thread on this same issue I recently experienced, but with Steelcraft powerglide running boards. They’re selling boards “specific” to 25-26 models yet their instructions are printed for 2019-2024 models w/the CAN BUS harness.
Thankfully I found a solution. The hi and low wires can be tapped found at the harness under the driver footwell area, it’s a large grey plug with white and red.
The CAN bus low wire is white
The CAN bus high wire is blue w/ white line. They are smaller wires in the plug which “should” be located to the front right side of the plug. You can wire tap these for the door open/close signal/data.
Worked with the Steelcraft powerglide running boards part 372390. Good quality, but deploys a bit clunky compared to the Mopar brand boards, and also doesn’t have nearly as much step area/distance from under the vehicle as the Mopar boards. Lastly, there is ZERO customer service for this brand. Located in TX and CA, their website phone numbers took me to a hotel, and never got a reply from their email
