2025 Ram 1500 power tailgate wont open - need help please

Hello. I'm seeing if anyone has had this similar issue.

I have a brand new 2025 Ram Rebel. The power lifft gate suddenly stopped working. If I press the button on the remote, the button in the cab, or the button on the latch I hear 4 beeps and the latch will not release. I have a bed cover on it so I currently cannot access the bed. Has anyone seen this? Or know of a quick fix other than taking it to the dealer to have it sit there for a week before they can look at it.

I test drove a '25 Limited with the power tailgate yesterday. The truck was everything exactly what I want - except it had that power tailgate.

After we got back from the test drive, the salesman was like "do you want to come inside and we can run some numbers on this?"

I said "nope. I am not buying a truck that doesn't have the Multi-Function Tailgate." The salesman looked like I punched him in the stomach.

I didn't realize it had a power gate until I tried to open it. That's when I learned it is power open and power close.

I think that is just about the DUMBEST thing ever on a pickup truck! More electronics and cost for absolutely no point. I have the MFT on my current Limited. Whether it's an MFT or not, they have had it figured out for years how to have it damped to lower, so you can just pop the handle (or push the button on the remote) and let it drop. And how to have a spring in it to make it very easy to lift to close.

Putting an electric motor in there to open and close the tailgate is just dumb!

The salesman tried to tell me RAM isn't making the MFT anymore. I didn't believe him.

So, I came home and searched around for dealer inventory via the RamTrucks.com website. I found a number of trucks that are basically identical, within 200 miles of me, that have the MFT. I mean, '25 Limiteds, in black, Night edition, and with the MFT. They are totally available.

The MFT is awesome. It was a big reason I traded my '19 DT for a '21 - to get the MFT. I will never willingly go back to a tailgate that won't open barn door style. It makes loading the bed SO much easier!

Don't let some schmuck salesman sell you a power gate by telling you the MFT is not available.
