Just saw a YouTube video from S&B video site of the new cold air system getting production ready. Will pick up the air sensor as well and will also pick up the air draw from the oem box’s pickup point. No dyno numbers yet but without the lid on it,it looks very close in design to the RHO’s system for the HO.Looks to be in the 300.00 dollar range as well.Might be worth the cost if it shows better acceleration numbers

I just want it to make some more pronounced turbo sounds

Is this the video?

I was curious to see how long until someone created an CAI for the Ram Hurricane. I'm excited for something like this.

my biggest problem with the K&N is that it does not have the feeder tube from the front grill like the one from S&B. Now it might just be a poor angle they are showing or they have a hole to use the factory one, but the S&B one clearly shows the tube.

The K&N is open on top and the lower part of the front like the stock air box. Reading the K&N cai instructions the factory radiator air tube is retained.
Both companies replace the rigid plenum silencer tube connecting from the air box corrugated rubber tube to the pressure control actuator (throttle body).
It's sad my Wrangler 2.0L Hurricane has more turbo spool sound than the 3.0L has with twin turbos, the S&B and K&N cai will probably remedy that.

The S&B looks to have a RAM Rho type filter (large and wide). The K&N shows a narrow and slightly longer filter. I’m curious what the advantage/disadvantage of each type. Any engineers have some insight?

The RHO is similar design but doesn't have side openings in the airbox that seals against the hood where air is feed from the hood scoop.
I'm curious how that works with a snow packed hood scoop opening.

The $3 question is; what do these filters do for REAL performance and like what one member suggested, one of these filters has the "dirt and grit" protection of a screen door. I'm not willing to let all "that crap" enter my engine for a non-measurable 3 extra HP!!!!!! Though they do LOOK good, when the hood is up.
