2025 Limited w/HK stereo speaker upgrade

What are your thoughts on 3 ways in the rear doors?
Im keeping the budget under $200.00. Im sure any speaker will sound better than the Alpines i installed in my 87 Monte SS in 1998.

i have jl 6x9 3 ways in the back i got them off a friend that ended up not using them for 50 bucks he paid 280 for them.
there are cheaper options and a 3 way really isn't necessary.
if i was going to buy a set retail i would have got these

If you are not putting anything in the rear headliner to reproduce highs/mids, you def need at least coax's in the doors.

i got these up front. i really like them. toejam has me thinking about getting another set for the rear.

Something to keep in mind when yall are swapping speakers. The factory amplifies( I’m assuming both alpine and harman. but can only speak on what I own, harman) have cross over points built in. All the tweeters are strictly highs. The rear doors are all mid and the front doors are some mids mostly bass. Something to keep in mind. I have three way kickers in the rear and you can’t even tell.

So i was installing new headliner speakers and the metal plate that holds the speaker came away from the head liner when i went to reattach the grill. Bottom right clip didnt want to go in so i pushed a little to hard. It was just glued in.
Thinking i’ll pull the speaker out. Reglue the plate to the headliner.
Break off the clips insert them into the plate them glue the grill to the top of the clips.

I feel your pain! I too had the plate come loose from the headliner. I ended up getting some 3M 08061 plastic and emblem adhesive clear. I made sure the plate and headliner were clean of any previous adhesive, then applied a thin bead around the perimeter of the plate, stuck it back up in the headliner, positioned it correctly, and used some spring loaded clamps to secure it in place until it dried. Afterward, I had no problem (gingerly) pressing the grills back in place after mounting the new speakers.
