2025 Limited w/HK stereo speaker upgrade

What are your thoughts on 3 ways in the rear doors?
Im keeping the budget under $200.00. Im sure any speaker will sound better than the Alpines i installed in my 87 Monte SS in 1998.

i have jl 6x9 3 ways in the back i got them off a friend that ended up not using them for 50 bucks he paid 280 for them.
there are cheaper options and a 3 way really isn't necessary.
if i was going to buy a set retail i would have got these

If you are not putting anything in the rear headliner to reproduce highs/mids, you def need at least coax's in the doors.

i got these up front. i really like them. toejam has me thinking about getting another set for the rear.

Something to keep in mind when yall are swapping speakers. The factory amplifies( I’m assuming both alpine and harman. but can only speak on what I own, harman) have cross over points built in. All the tweeters are strictly highs. The rear doors are all mid and the front doors are some mids mostly bass. Something to keep in mind. I have three way kickers in the rear and you can’t even tell.

So i was installing new headliner speakers and the metal plate that holds the speaker came away from the head liner when i went to reattach the grill. Bottom right clip didnt want to go in so i pushed a little to hard. It was just glued in.
Thinking i’ll pull the speaker out. Reglue the plate to the headliner.
Break off the clips insert them into the plate them glue the grill to the top of the clips.

I feel your pain! I too had the plate come loose from the headliner. I ended up getting some 3M 08061 plastic and emblem adhesive clear. I made sure the plate and headliner were clean of any previous adhesive, then applied a thin bead around the perimeter of the plate, stuck it back up in the headliner, positioned it correctly, and used some spring loaded clamps to secure it in place until it dried. Afterward, I had no problem (gingerly) pressing the grills back in place after mounting the new speakers.

I’ve got close to 10K in my system with another 5K in different/additional equipment sitting in my closet for a future upgrade. All Hertz currently except for the JL Audio DSP.
I JUST DROPPED OVER $10K on my system. 2021 RAM 1500 Laramie w/ Alpine.
Helix V TWELVE DSP + Helix Conductor, FOCAL Slate 6.5" X 4 in the doors, JL Audio C7 350 X 5 dash and rear headliner, FOCAL 1" inverted silk dome tweeter X 4, A pillars and front, corner panel of interior window trim, ->->-> Kicker CXA800 -> JL Audio 12" TW3 D4, X 2, downfire in sealed enclosure under rear seat, HiBi R6 Gen III 2025 DAP.
It sounds amazing but it could be a little louder. lol
I do need to re-tune some of the DSP features on the Helix amp and adjust the positioning slightly. Over all, it's a hell of a SQ build for a pickup truck. lol

Look - it's all gonna be subjective..... You really need to start out with:

1. Budget - how much are you willing to spend to get the sound you're after?
2. Are you tackling this project yourself, or having it done for you? Sometimes professional installation is the way to go if you're not adept at installs. This also gives you a guarantee on how things get installed.
3. Low End, Mid priced, or High End parts/accessories?
4. Sound proofing?
I could go on but maybe this will give you an idea. Here's my current system on a budget of about $2,500 to $3,000

(I still have all oem functions and carplay and can run the DAP and phone simultaneously when connected to the amp directly)

Other than a speaker swap, it gets very expensive, very fast. $650 for the wiring harness to bypass the factory amp and ANC. Just to be able to add an amp.

toejam is on point. 3k will more than satisfy 99% of people. i must have saved near 3k on labor in todays rates doing my own work.
IMO 650 is a rip off ! the the amp bypass harness did away with the anc, and a anc bypass harness by itself is CHEAP on a base stereo like 30 bucks and takes about 5 min to install.
the alpine /HK amp bypass is not expensive. but you kind of need to know what you are doing
