2025 Level 2 Lighting Question

I can confirm with my 2025 Laramie Level 2 (took delivery 8/22/24) with Night Edition that it has incandescent rear taillights and third brake light, and the LED reflectors for headlights, no led DRL but LED fog lamps.
I replaced the lights in third brake light to the white LED after getting it and also the reverse lamps were standard halogen bulb too. Replaced those as well with LED with no issues.

What did you use and have you had any issues with the key fob?

Reverse LED Lamps & Third Brake Light LEDs: Amazon.com

Key fob works alright. Has terrible range, maybe 15 feet, but seems to work best when in a pocket alone, away from any other electronic device. I had an AirTag on my keys like I have with every vehicle but the airtag caused the key fob to act squirrelly. Oddly with remote start the range is better but not for unlock and locking. It almost always picks up proximity and turns the lights on but then sometimes it’ll take a couple-few pulls on door handle before it’ll actually unlock.

Maybe try a new battery in your key fob. That range sounds unusually short.

Yeah you could be onto something bc when I started using the other fob, it worked slightly better.

I replaced my taillights with LEDs the other day. I think turned out great. No errors or codes. Little weird with the triple unlock blink but otherwise operate very well. A lot brighter than the stock incandescents. Link: Amazon.com

Looks good, I may go this route since I did not have luck with the factory LED's probably order the darker night edition housings to got with it.

Hold off a little bit Jimmy and I are still working on something. I’m going to check the last few wires tomorrow morning.

My 2025 Laramie night edition doesn't have LED but my 2022 Laramie night edition did and I would like to do the same thing you did. Did you need to use resistors or just plug in LED bulbs in the stock housings and no issues?

We are looking at putting factory LED taillights on our trucks by adding some of the wires that are missing on the harness. The headlights are not an option from what I am told. So far we are waiting for Jimmy to create the harness we need to do this.

Looks like they are finally getting scheduled as mine just was recently, but nothing seen quite yet. (:
I just received my 2025 Laramie Level II and my msrp sticker shows that I should have exterior front and rear animation lighting. It doesn’t, it came with the same lower lever leds that are in a Bighorn. Went to the dealership about 5 people there including managers all agreed they the wrong lights were installed. So today opened up a case with Ram Customer Care. Hopefully they can easily replace all 4 lights enclosures with what comes standard on a Limited.

I can’t speak about the headlights but for the taillights you can’t “easily replace” with the LED style, they will not light up at all.

I’ve been working with Jimmy to add some missing wiring and I’ve made some progress but I still don’t have brake/turn/reverse lights. I spent a bunch of time on it today and got frustrated so hopefully I’ll have some news tomorrow if it can be done with just adding the missing wiring or if BCM changes need to be made which is not possible on a 2025 yet (DIY at least)

But I don’t think a dealer would add wiring without replacing the entire harness which makes the swap impossible.

Did you install the wiring harness he created? And even with that it didn’t work right?

I did installed the harness, but I thought it caused a bunch of errors. Turns out the connector under the driver's seat is very touchy and I need to go through it and make sure all the wires are secure (I didn't put much strain on it other than to turn it to get the wires inserted). I had errors for blind spot and emergency braking and a rear turn signal that didn't work because of that, once I make sure everything is working again I will try to put the lights back in.

I did get the outside that turns on with the running lights to work, not sure if part of the middle illuminates with running lights or if it is only brake and turn but that's as far as I've gotten.

Awesome, I hope it works out! Once I find out what is going to happen with my truck, I'll end up doing the same.

No level 2 in any model get the animated lights. I had a buy back because of this. you cannot put the animated headlights in the front, I was told the entire front end of the truck is different. Mopar did offer me cash to keep me in the truck I had. I passed and got another Rebel better optioned for the same price.
