Hi All,
I just bought my first ever RAM a 2025 Laramie with 3.0 Hurricane, stepping from a 2009 Chevy Silverado 5.3 with 200k miles. I sure hope the RAm goves service as good as that Chevy did.
So far I've added the power running boards and ordered a MOPAR bed step. I am also considering a trailer brake controller since my RAM didn't come with one. Unfortunately my local dealer says the brake controller is on back order for the foreseeable future so I need to find something to use in the meantime.
One thing I've learned that is worth passing on is that some of the MOPAR part numbers in the computer for the 2025 are incorrect. I ordered and purchased the bed step from my dealer who used my VIN to look up the correct part. Once installed it hit the exhaust and bottom of the bumper. I went back to the parts department and they contacted MOPAR tech support only to learn that the part number in the computer is wrong and hasn't been updated. Tech supplied the correct part number but it is back ordered and about $200 more expensive than the step for the 2024. In researching numbers for the brake controller I've learned that the computer is still listing the number for the 2024 and saying that you have to check under the dash to see if the wiring harness for the controller is there. From what I can tell this is incorrect becasue the controller is behind the rear seat on the 2025.
Thanks to all who participate in this site. I'm looking forward to learning a lot and participating when I can.
