2025 Laramie fuel gauge way off on 33 gallon tank can it be adjusted to be even half way correct?

Has anyone filled up right after getting the low fuel light? I am curious how much gas is in the tank at that point and what the norm is. My 4th gen truck that had a 32 gallon tank, if the low fuel light came on and pulled into a gas station to fill up, it would take just over 26 gallons. So lets say 26.5 gallons, so that would leave 5.5 gallons left in the tank. I will have to try this with my 2025 to see exactly what's left when the light comes on. Someone mentioned having 9 gallons left, that seems like way too much to me and probably not how it was intended to work.
Someone might beat me to it as I still don't have my truck yet, but if I get it back this week, I'll let you know.

I can’t recall running my 23 down to the light, I can say I did in my 2015 which had the 33 gallon tank. Depending on how long I drove with the light on, I usually stuffed between 26 and 28 gallons back in.
Honestly… I can only remember a single time I put 30 gallons in.
Long drive, trying to make it home from a long work road trip… lost in thoughts and music. Pulled off the freeway to my exit…just happened to look down and see light and instead of miles left on the dash, I think it said LOW Fuel or something like that…

My low fuel light came on at about 3/16 of a tank, remote start also quit. The only place I could see miles remaining to empty was on the App, it just said zero. I drove until the fuel level bar went to the bottom, then fueled up. Put in 30.25 gals. seems about right. The low fuel warning is way off target.

I did, which is what prompted me to post. 24.5 gallon fill-up on a 33 gallon tank. About 8.5 gallons would have been remaining. My truck said about 60 miles distance to empty and at the time my tank's avg fuel economy was mid 13 mpgs from a bunch of idling while picking up kids from school. Wish I would have taken a picture at that moment. The computer DTE calculation was way off with the 8.5 gallons remaining in the tank.

Do you have the same gauge cluster as mine? If so, can you temporarily add the distance to empty "tape" to the left side and take a picture? Mine doesn't look the same as the '24 and earlier trucks that had the same instrument gauge. Not sure if that is a '25 change or mine needs to calibration love to the computer. I'm trying to see if I need to troubleshoot the XXXXs and really wrong DTE calculation on this new truck.

Anyways, the owners manual say low fuel light should come on below 1/4 tank AND less than 50 miles remaining.

The gauge on my 25 Laramie with 26 gallon tank gives extremely early warnings as well. My last truck was a 22 big horn with the 33 gallon tank, and it did not behave this way. My 22 would not go to low fuel warning until range was 50 miles and when I filled it up, the calculation was accurate.

I was surprised at the Low Fuel light coming on at a hair over a 1/4 tank left. The next day no remote start, rembered this post and calmed down after thinking something was wrong after 1500 miles on a new truck.
Filled up with 21 gallons in a 26 gallon tank.

My fuel light came on yesterday. I took a picture right away but I could not get to a gas station. I drove another 70 miles before filling up. I was averaging just over 18mpg, so by my calculations I used another 3.8 gallons of gas after the light came on. Went to fill up, the truck took 30.83 gallons of gas. So my guess is if I filled up right away, the truck would have taken 27 gallons of gas at the time the light came on. The gauge was just under 1/4 and the light came on right when the miles to empty went below 50.

My 2025 has the digital gauge cluster. What you quoted from the owners manual was exactly how it worked for me. The miles to epty changed from 54 to 48 and the light instantly came on.

looks like enough people have the same problem hopefully it’s a firmware update. I have had 3 5th Gen Rams, 2019 with the standard tank and then a 2021 with the 33 gallon tank. Both trucks the low fuel light came on right at the red mark 50 miles left. I now have a 2025 ram SST with the 33 gallon tank and the low light comes on at a 1/4 ridiculous lol also on my 3rd fill up same result. Truck has a recall check I’ll mention this to the service writer see what they say.
