2023 Lone Star 1500 - went from 84 miles remaining parked to empty 12 hours later

You just recently purchased this truck?

Edit: Just reread your post that you got the truck a week ago. Is the dealership going to take care of the rodent damage for you?
Why would dealership cover rodent damage after the sale? It was obviously fine when it left the lot they can't control conditions after the sale.

My feelings on this are that if you drive your vehicle regularly, the chances of rodents making a home and damaging your vehicle are slim. My guess is that this most likely started while the truck was sitting parked for extended periods of time. Since the OP just purchased the truck, and was regularly driving it in that short period, I would think that the majority of the damage was preexisting.

So is the dealership covering the cost?
Nope. Insurance said there's no way to verify it was sold me in that condition. Honestly, with as much damage as there is, I don't see how they could have sold it with that damage.

Carpets weren't chewed when I bought it. Truck drove when I bought it. On the hook for my deductible, covered under comprehensive.

It was parked at my work for about 12 hours, then it wouldn't start, then it was there for another day before I could get it towed. I'm assuming that's where it happened.

Ok, good luck. My only point was that any time I ever heard of rodent damage to a car, it was usually followed with something about the car being parked for at least a few weeks.

I’ve got my Mighty Mint ready to spray the wheel wells and under the hood when I finally get it back. Hopefully this Friday.

For mice, maybe. If it's a squirrel or rabbit, it didn't take them long to mess some stuff up

We'll see. Insurance did say there was rat poop. So, hopefully it was only that. Don't see a lot of squirrels and rabbits in the parking lot at work. (Don't see a lot of rats, either, so, I dunno.)

I've had a squirrel take out an O2 sensor wire with car only sitting overnight
