Hey ladies n gents, man let me tell you, i have been customizing cars since the 80’s, regals, cutlass, chevy, tahoe, gmc, etc, radio installs, amps, lights, etc, i have never been so frustrated working on a vehicle, like i have with the RAM brand, i had a 2019 Ram limited loaded, hk system, nice truck, wanted better sound options, found out about the pac brand, and ordered the interface that would allow me to add amplifiers, omg got everything installed and sound was amazing!!!! Fast forward to march 2022, i stop in ram dealer to check out new options in the 22 models, long story short, i leave with a brand new 22 limited,,thought i could transfer all my audio from the 19 to the 22, NOPE UCONNECT 5 has all new connections, so the pac interface i purchased for my 19, wont work for my 22, no biggie, bought the anc bypass, with the line outs, and i have an ok system, with line outs and 2 subs, i dont think its sounds better than the pac interface, but it will do for now!!! Ok so let me get to the tailgate light bar installation, omg why did the ram engineer decide to put those two bumps in the back on 5th gens to make tailgate light bars, so dificult, i did the double sided tape on my 19, wasnt gonna do that on my 22, ladies n gents, i figured out a way to install a 60 inch light bar, EASY, 4 holes drilled easy peaszy, ill post pics tomorrow, thanks for reading.

Welcome, and you can wire around the connector issue if you have the AP4-CH1. (or wait for them to release the new version)

What do you mean, wire around ap4-ch1?
Basically chop off the connectors that go into the radio from the pac harness and hardwire into the harness of the truck. Not plug n play, but you can use it.

Don’t do that, it’s not necessary. The AP4– CH1 has a t-harness. All you need to do is cut off the wires from the small white connector where they go into the t-harness, then scotch-lock them onto your vehicle wiring.

Please don't ever use scotch-locks. Not even in an emergency.

There's nothing wrong electrically with the use of those inside the cabin for speaker connections. They may cause corrosion over time, but it's a very long time. Sure, cutting the wires and using butt connectors with heat shrink (integral or added) is better, but not necessary. Also, you saying not to use them in an emergency is pretty ridiculous.

Maybe a better comment would be to not only criticize, but provide a solution?

Not that I would ever take my vehicles to a stereo shop anymore, but if I ever found someone cutting my factory harness and using butt splices, they would be buying me a new harness. Not a fan of scotch locks either as they damage the wire, even if you remove them later, the damage is done.

So like i mentioned, i have a brand new 22 limited, so i have a loc in the back running the subs, sound is ok, but not how im used to hearing it, with the pac interface, so after a few peeps told me to the white plug off, and hardwire into the radio, im saying to myself, yessss i can get my great sound back, so i took radio apart, and none of the colors in the white plug are in these new micro mini harnesses on back of the new uconnect 5 12 inch screen, so maybe the connections i need are under seat at the factory amp, started raining so i had to stop the search, i posted pics of new connections behind radio.

You need a wiring conversion chart to make it work. I have it. You want me to PM you with it? The PAC representative said I am not allowed to distribute it, so I’m not going to post it publicly and risk fallback for this site.

Came outside this morning, got ready to hardwire pac ap4-ch4, took radio down, and before i made a cut, i said to myself, STOP NO AND DONT!!! Brand new truck, cant cut into it, so i remember adding the pac anc bypass harness, so i go look under seat, and at the anc bypass are all the wires i need to splice the ap4-ch4 in, wow my luck cant be this good, so i cut small white connector from ap4-ch4 harness and splice it into the anc bypass, matching all the colors up, install the anc bypass back under the seat, and what do you know, the ap4-ch4 fires up, so i run rca cables and remote wire to amp and now my sound is amazing!!!! So clear and the bass is just right for my needs, the difference is like night and day, like i mentioned earlier i had the amp pac in my 19 ram, so when i got the 22, i thought i was dead in the water, with the amp pro, but thanks to all you guys input, im back in the game, and special thanks to Djevox, so now im a happy camper, and looking for the next mod. Thanks again everybody

So glad you didn't take the advice to chop up the factory harness, and were able to find a better way.

That’s awesome 👍

Do you happen to have a wiring diagram or at least a link to that bypass harness you used? I don’t have ANC, but I wonder if I could salvage parts of that harness to do the same thing for myself.
