I haven’t experienced this yet. But with the crappy UConnect 5 issues, it’s probably just a matter of time.

Hope I don’t get a letter for that.

The affected vehicles are already known. Go to the NHTSA/recall website and enter the VIN to find out if your vehicle is affected: Recalls | NHTSA. Here is the link to the recall on the NHTSA website: 2022 RAM RAM 1500 CLASSIC CREW CAB PU/CC 4WD | NHTSA

Here are the details:

A recall has been issued for 2022 Ram 1500 and 2500 pickup trucks, and 3500 Chassis Cab vehicles with gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of less than 10,000 pounds because the radio software may prevent the feed from the backup camera from displaying when reversing.

The recall involves 117,759 trucks, and all are affected by the problem. But it impacts only specific trucks that were built with an incompatible rearview camera system and radio combination that may prevent the rearview image from displaying under certain conditions.

Other trucks from that model year either were constructed outside of a specific period or did not have that combination of camera and radio.

The repair is a software update.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 29, 2022.

Well, I guess I’m one of the “lucky” ones. Maybe this update will fix my disappearing presets. FJB and UConnect 5.

Yaaaaay, I don’t have a recall! I was dreading having to remove my stereo and tuner just for an infotainment update.

Looks like mine is one of the trucks since I got the notice.

I've not had any problem at all and always see the rearview image when backing up.

Should I bother updating it since I haven't experienced any issue?

I always get nervous applying software updates when everything works fine lol

That’s understandable. If I had no issues but a recall, I’d probably push it off also (I do have random issues but no recall). You could always wait until you’re scheduling for something else and tell them you need the recall done also.

Good idea...I'll wait till next service

I tried to enter my VIN as instructed and got ...nothing, even though I got an email about this recall.

I'll wait for my letter (assume will arrive early August).

Then, since I have no problems with this now, will wait as you suggest.

Dave

Yep, mine's on the list and yep, my backup camera doesn't work sometimes. Would have been cool if this were released earlier since I had all my outstanding software updates done on June 3 haha. Oh well.

I checked and I am not on the recall list, but I have seen the blue screen and cam not work so I suspect it may be expanded.

No recall issued yet for my truck. Maybe recently built trucks have already been updated.🤔
