I bought a 22 ram 1500 and accidentally bounced my side mirror off the side of the garage opening and cracked my turn signal lens clear cover and need to replace it. How do I take the mirror housing apart to be able to replace the clear cover? Any help will be appreciated. I’ve been looking on the internet for days and can’t figure it out. Thanks

You will need to remove the mirror in order to get to the screws to remove that section. The thread explains member's experiences with changing their covers, the process will be similar for your situation. Based on my own experience the "mirror area" needs to be warm and some use a suction cup.

I practiced on my cracked mirror. The dealership had to replace the section you refer to as water entered the housing. The mirror was cracked while they were replacing the mirror glass and had to order the part. I was able to "practice" on the cracked mirror while awaiting repair.
I had bought color matched mirror covers and since changed my mind, prefer the black.

Tilt the mirror the whole way down and there are 2 clips at 10 and 2. Pry these off with a thin screwdriver and the mirror will lift off. To take the mirror assembly apart pry the cap off and then you will see torx screws on both sides that lets the mirror housing separate. Or you could just by my two mirrors I have for sale!!!

I've used the suction cup method in the past. You're saying you can just tilt the glass down and pry the clips up top? Are the clips visible? I'm talking about the smaller, non-tow mirrors, if that matters.

Yes, that's what I did when I changed to the body color caps

Use a suction cup on the mirror. Attach it and pull straight out. There are two wires that are attached to the glass. Don't forget to reattach them. I changed out my chrome housings with body-colored ones. Whole job took less than 10 minutes.

What was the outside temperature? That seemed to be an issue. As previously posted I practiced on a cracked mirror so the suction cup would not work but I did use some heat.

I've tried the suction cup method on 2 trucks in the past. The first went off without a hitch. The 2nd truck had one of the mirrors separate at the power adjusting housing instead of pulling the mirror out by itself - panic ensued for about an hour as I eventually figured out how to get that assembly back together. I'd rather avoid risking that again, but maybe I just got unlucky with that one because I hadn't heard about it happening to anyone else.

I hate to resurrect an old thred, but does anyone, or HAS anyone, taken apart the mirrors further than just removing the glass and cap? I'm curious if this repairable or not.
