I thought all Laramies and higher trims had the full LED premium lighting packages. Well, here’s one for sale in my area that has the base halogen headlights but yet has the LED taillights. When did that change? And why is Ram putting the baseline headlights in an upscale Laramie trim these days?

Edit: nevermind, I found it on the dealer website. I’ve never seen that before with a combination of Big Horn and Laramie features. I guess that’s another casualty of the “Chip shortage.”

When you build the truck on the Ram site, there is an option that allows you to step down to halogens. It deducts $495 from the cost.

New Covid chip shortage option. Kinda dumb they don’t offer the full price of the lights off when you opt out.

Mystery solved. Thanks guys.. that’s lame! I wonder if they drop the price $495 for that. And only $495? Last I checked each LED headlight unit was around $900..

It’s $1000 for the headlights and taillights. In this case you’re getting 1/2 so the price is 1/2. Lol
