Talked to the dealer today and they haven't replicated this week but when they did last week they said it was running awful at startup. They said they made it a star case now which means a report of the problem has been sent to FCA and all other RAM service departments to see if they ever encounter this issue before and if they came up with a solution. Fingers crossed they may have a loaner vehicle for me tomorrow.

Hopefully they come up with something soon! Mine hasn't been doing it too terribly lately. Just a little rough at startup.

The truck is still at the dealer with no updates. I sent a certified letter to Ram about the truck meeting the lemon law. It's a requirement for Maryland Lemon Law. Apparently they have 30 days to fix it after receiving the letter but I don't see that happening. It's now officially been at the dealer for 28 days.

I received an email from Ram with a follow up survey on the quality of my vehicle and I spent most of the morning filling that out.

Sorry to hear that yours is acting up again. I'd take it back to the dealer tomorrow documenting the problem.

Wow, I'm surprised they've had yours for so long and still haven't come up with anything!

Yup I had to send a certified letter to Ram staying the issues and demanding them to fix it. This is part of the Maryland lemon law and Ram has 30 days to fix it after receiving the letter. I didn't realize the letter could be sent before the truck was even close to qualifying as a lemon or I would have sent it earlier. Ram received the letter on Monday and I haven't heard anything from them. I also had to send a copy of the letter with a form to the Maryland Attorney General, Consumer Protection Services so hopefully they will help if Ram sits on their thumbs.

My truck did that last year for about a month then cleared up and didn't do it for almost a year. Started doing it again about 6 weeks ago. Also had an issue where it lost all power and throttle control trying to accelerate from a stop light. Popped a code for cam/crank out of sync. Scheduled appointment with dealer, which took a week to get in. I cleared check engine light but it was still saved in historical. Dealer said they couldn't find any issues to cause CEL. They did do a PCM update to it. Hasn't had the cold start stumble since.

Wow that loss of all power at a light isn't fun! I will suggest this next time I talk to them.

Still no god dam update! My case manager with Ram is useless and last I heard from her was over a week ago even though I sent them messages and left them a voicemail asking them to call me back. Most of the "updates" I get from them are useless. Here is the last one, "Good Afternoon, I spoke to your advisor. She is checking on the status of your vehicle with the tech Nick right now." that was it no follow up and that was on Nov 7.
No word from RAM regarding the letter I sent them letting them know the truck is a lemon and I want them to replace it.

I called customer service and the guy just tried transferring me to my case manager who want available. Big surprise there! I kept telling to him the situation and asking to speak to someone at Ram that could actually help but he couldn't put me in touch with anyone. He did say my case is being reviewed by " level 3 agent a room manager" it was hard to understand him so who knows what that means.

I did file a complaint with the BBB but not sure what they will be able to do.

That's what I started on Oct 17. You have to send a certified letter to Ram to start the lemon law process. At least that's how the Lemon Law process works in Maryland.

Right you have started the process, you know what happens next at the dealership level?

When you sent that letter, the dealer then waits from Ram on what to do. You handcuffed your truck to legal, the dealer will sit and wait on what to do next from Ram.

I reached out to Ram again today after posting on here and supposedly they tried to call me yesterday and left me a voicemail but i had no missed calls or voicemails. Maybe I will get to talk to them today and finally have a solution.

I'm assuming it will be just be a buyback and i will be back at square one shopping for a new truck again. After this nightmare of an experience I may try another Ram. I have never been thrilled with Fords and although my last truck a 2003 Chevy has been great, the majority of reviews of the new Silverado all talk about issues with the transmission. My dad's 2019 Ram has been great to him and will be talking with my father in law about his 2021 Ram at Thanksgiving. Hopefully I did get that rare lemon of a truck. Seems that way since so few people had a similar issue to mine.

Well this past week I've had 2 different people call me to update me on whats going on. The last person was RAM's Customer Retention Specialist. When she told me that i laughed inside and said to my self good luck. She was telling me they are very close to reviewing the truck for a buyback but their first goal is always to have the dealer fix the truck. I told her yea i understand that but the dealer has had over 2 months now to do that and they still don't even have the problem diagnosed! Luckily this lady said multiple times she will call me back every 2 days to update me so it will be nice to not be left in the dark like before. Fingers crossed things are resolved by Christmas!
