I sold my 2019 larame with auto dimming mirrors and got a 2021 limited with the power folding tow mirrors and immediately noticed because I drove home at night that the mirrors didn't auto dim. i looked closer and i see what looks like a light sensor under the mirror to cause it to dim but can't get it to dim. I am debating buying regular mirrors for $650 a set and swapping them for what is in my opinion a better mirror.

Since you have the limited it may not be a light sensor but a camera for the 360 degree camera system if your truck is equipped with it. I would check your window sticker and owners manual to see if that is a feature and if so what type of mirrors or package is required to have it.

I see the camera pointing down. I was wondering about the 3/8 square sensor

You should go into your settings and see if that feature is activated.
I did notice that my passenger side mirror does not dim, my 2011 Ram Outdoorsman did.

That is not a sensor. It’s a backup light that is activated by pushing the lower button section on the headlight switch.
I am amazed that our side ‘tow’ mirrors do not dim. Much better now that our front windows are tinted but still, amazed that it’s not there.

Oh nice. Yeah I’m putting regular mirrors on that dim and have a usable passenger optic.

Dang that light packs a punch. Now I wish I could control it to return high beam drivers the vision favor next to me

Not sure i want them anymore...but will still ask lol..

anybody think the power fold tow mirrors will work on a '20 limited? They didn't have power fold option last yr.

I’m sure they will it’s the same fold circuit as the regular mirrors.
I’m getting used to only using the blind spot mirrors instead of the big mirror that is like a monocular rather than useful at all.
I swear I’d take them off accept for that nifty guidance light that I’m working on gaining control of while driving

That is a Reverse Light . You need to have the Cargo Light on and the Truck in Reverse for them to come on.
I wonder if Alfa OBD can change them to just come on when in Reverse only?

I will be mounting some LED Pod Lights under the rear bumper to take care of the Tailgators with High Beams on
and to brighten up everything while reversing.
