2020 vs 2021 5.7L Price Difference

Why is there a $200 difference ($1795 vs $1995) in the 5.7L between the 2020 vs the 2021 1500 truck? Was there an improvement change that hasn't been listed anywhere? I'm mainly just curious. Thanks.

Such is inflation / cost of doing business. Prices change throughout the model year as well, particularly on options.

They did add a flux capacitor. The platinum used in that component alone is worth the $200 difference.

Seriously though, unfortunately, options sometimes go up over time. Sometimes they go down as well.

It really is and I am happy Ram added it for the 2021 model year. You really notice the performance gains around 88 miles an hour.

The manufactures play all sorts of number games. MSRP almost always goes up as do options. They move things around within the packages also. Sometimes prices come down on options. When I ordered my 21 Laramie the Level 2 package came down $600 from the 20 model. They moved small things around like the wireless charging which was part of the level 2 before is now part of the sport appearance or bucket front seat option. Maybe with the etorque that extra $200 is for the new emblem on the hood.

If you think that's bad, start keeping track of Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator. Those prices go up HUGE from year to year. Heck, when the new JL Wrangler launched in 2018, they increased the base price 3 times in the first model year! Yes, price increases DURING the model year. As soon as they see something getting popular, they become greedy.

That's probably not far off. The reason I went with the base model was so I could skip the goofy ****. Oh well. Wasted money because all the badges are coming off the day I buy it.
