2020 ecodiesel. Basically stock, just a pedal commander.

Second time in 2 weeks I’ve had a slightly rough idle in drive while stopped for a stop light.

I have my MPH as the center instrument cluster. As it is rough idling, it keeps flashing what looks like the “press to start” message you normally see at startup.

I tried to snag a video of it and of course I was too slow and the light changed.

Was concerned the truck was going to die at idle. Definitely not a great feeling.

No other symptoms or issues. No codes or messages.

Mid 30s for temp and about 4500 feet.

Anyone else experience similar?

Mine did this with my disaster case when I bought the truck. Ultimately it was the EGR valves that was the problem. I think what you are complaining about is what my truck was doing in the limp mode it went into... Mine did eventually throw a check engine light. Didn’t happen immediately though. My truck had 300 miles on it at the time.

Thanks NewLove.

What was the ultimate solution to the issue?

If you take it to the dealer, get that Pedal Commander out of there before you do.

I've already seen one guy have the dealership deny to work on his for a separate issue under warranty because he had a Pedal Commander. And I assume that if you go in complaining about rough idle and they see an aftermarket throttle device hooked up they'll likely refuse to touch it.

I would take the pedal commander out and see if this happens. It very well could be causing the issue

Bringing this back to the top. Has anyone had this issue resolved ? I have a 21 ED with 19k miles and just this morning it was running rough and had a stumble off idle. No check engine light or anything but cleared up after a little while. I was wondering if it was at the end of a Regen cycle. I also noticed that when it was stumbling at idle ( in gear foot on brake ) the RPMs were higher than usual, maybe 700 rpm vs the normal 500 rpm.
