What a disappointmen! Just got this truck a few weeks ago and already having an issue with the etorque function for start stop. The Start stop service warning light was on and finally turned off after shutting the truck down, but the start stop is still not working. Drove around for a while trying to get stop start to work but no bueno. A few weeks ago I found this truck with every option I wanted but it had 1 option I didnt really care about , ETORQUE. I did some research and didn’t see it as a deal breaker but if I’m being honest, I had thought start stop when the truck aged could be troublesome(wasn’t exactly thinking 700 miles as being aged) I’m calling the dealership tomorrow. Hopefully they will get this figured out fast. Just wanted to put this out there as a warning for others looking on the fence about etorque.
Thanks,
Jim

Per your owner’s manual, start/stop can be prevented or disabled by many conditions—some of which you control (e.g. gear selection, tow/haul mode, A/C settings) and others that you don’t. On a really hot day, mine might rarely or never get to a point where it shuts off...especially in city traffic.

If you’re unable to get it working after a gentle warm-up cruise on a cool morning, then there might be something amiss.

Welcome . That sucks , I haven’t heard about too many problems with the ETorque .

Thanks all,
I get that if you have AC cranking or Im assuming drawing more power than usual the start stop doesn’t turn on. I shut down AC , screens, and drove around for a while. I’ll give it another try tomorrow. Fingers crossed it was just a fluke but I dont think so. Still going to call the dealer to get it on record.

There is also a specific start/stop screen available in the gauge cluster where you can view its status (IE- if available, and if not then why). As already mentioned, certain conditions must be met before stop/start kicks in, but the warning light is definitely troubling.

Wearing seat belt? If its not buckled stop/start won't work

I wish the narrator of those Mopar videos was a comedian. To me, his voice simply sounds like a nightclub standup act working a side-gig doing voice overs. I think if he told jokes or short amusing stories, with that voice, he would be hilarious. Reminds of Jerry Clower. I know he has a completely different accent, but same amusing sound to me.
