Hello friends,
I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Big horn 4x4 with the Hemi. The truck came with the stock 20s chrome wheels with stock highway tires. I have bought a set of 2019 Ram Rebel stock wheels and tires. The 18s with 275/70.
I went to a shop today and asked them to balance the tires and mount them for me. They test fitted the rebel wheel on the front driver side and brought me into the shop to show me. The tires fit in the wheel well but the clearance between the tire and the upper control arm ball joint was very small. My truck is stock everything no lift/level. Since the tires were actually a bit low when they test fitted (25 psi) they suggested I not mount them since they thought there was a possibility that the tire would make contact with the ball joint.
I listened to them and took the tires back home.
My question is, does any one have experience with attempting the same thing I'm trying to do. Have you mounted these wheels/tires on your truck and if so was clearance ever an issue?
Thank you all!!
This is a photo of my truck and the wheels/tires im trying to mount.
